I haven’t experienced this myself… but if I remember correctly, another member installed one and ended up pulling it off (drives all year long, including winter). Just something to think about… good luck either way.
Great feedback, thanks for that!

I usually ascribe to the notion that if engineers felt it necessary, they would do it. As an engineer, I also understand financial and environmental pressures. Can something be a good idea but not provided because it isn't "necessary"? Yes.

Back in the day we just accomplished crankcase venting with an external breather filter and ignored the environmental concerns. Oily intake pathways aren't detrimental, but aren't ideal either.

I get that the main issues are for folks really pushing the engine hard, which is something I won't be doing during the winter. I am concerned with oil vapor in the intake manifold but it may make sense to run the catch can when the summer tires are on and removing when the winter tires are on.

I think this is the thread some others were talking about. It was user Hotlap who had the issue. Post #8. You may want to reach out to him. I have not seen him post here for a long time though, so I'm not sure he's still active.

Went with the Elite Engineering E2 can for the 2016+ Camaro with the Single Exit port. In addition to the catch can kit, I ordered 2 of the GM OEM Quick Disconnect fittings as well.

GM OEM Quick Disconnect Fitting - STRAIGHT

This video shows to how to attach the hoses to the can.
Install Hoses on Ferrule Fittings - Elite Engineering - Catch Can

Installation is pretty straight forward. I used the same "hot water" procedure to attach the 2 fittings to the hoses along with the supplied clamps. The fittings make it very easy to connect (and disconnect if need arises) the hoses to the engine and intake. All I had to remove was the driver side "Camaro" cover and then I could reach/disconnect the factory PCV tube and connect the catch can hoses. When mounting the catch can, there is a hard line (plastic hose) that runs right where the can sits. Move it to the side of the can (under the can mounting bracket) so as not to impede your ability to unscrew the can to dump the contents.

I run an Elite catch can and empty it every oil change, there's not much in there but to me the idea of a catch can is a good one, what oil it's catching it not being blown back into the engine.
