2016 Camaro SS Color

Hello all,

I'm looking to purchase a 2016 Camaro SS within the next couple of weeks and I am stumped on which color to get.. The 3 choices are Summit White, Black, and Hyper Blue..

Whats the difficulty of keeping each color clean, and what in your eyes is most appealing to look at?

My choice would be the blue. Black is gorgeous but a lot of work. I've had pretty good luck with white cars looking good for a while after being washed. Never owned a blue, but would imagine it's more work than white, less than black.

The benefit of white is that the car looks "clean" even when it's brown from road grime, dirt, and dust. I've had a few white cars at this point. I have literally gone 3-4 months in the winter without washing (west coast - no salt) and the car still looks "good".

Black. Forget about it afaik. My wife likes black cars. No clue as to why. But, 2 days after washing the damn thing it looks dirty. They only look good when washed weekly. And the bigger problem. Any blemish, poor wax job, swirl, or mar shows on a black car.

The hyper blue is an amazing color. I think it will do well at masking some dirt and even when dirty will still look good. But, it will require more care than garnet red and white.

I'd go for white. It is certainly my favorite color of those three you are looking at. White is pretty easy to keep looking clean too, the dirt just doesn't show up on it in the same way, blends in better while generally white'ish dust and dry dirt is very high contrast against black paint.

My fav color is the nightfall, but my second is the white. Something badass in its clean, mature nature. It feels premium. I've seen it in person and loved it.

I'm partial to black. It has two states. Awesome, and dirty. White will always look good but the color never really looks awesome. The car looks awesome. Not a fan of the blue.

You are definitely right about the white vs black. White looks really good when clean/polished. But, it is never as striking as a black car clean and polished.

Absolutely no argument there from me.
But, my car after 1 month of neglect white still looks "clean".
My wife's black car looks like a messy neglected POS.

White always looks good.
Sacrilege but I took a few photos as I need to sell my current car so I posted one below.

There are happy mediums..... Garnet red, grey, blue.... Doubt the yellow looks good unless clean.

I would never ever buy another black vehicle. I always wash/wax my own cars but black showing "dirty" has nothing to do with me never getting another black vehicle. Simple really... Any time weather is above 60F is exactly why I will never own a black vehicle.

My passed two cars have been blue (2012 Focus, 2015 Mustang), and of course now the blue Camaro! Blue does a great job masking the dirt. At night blue will almost have a purple tint to it, while during the day it will standout and "pop". Everything from bugs, to dirt/mud, sometimes snow, to even the unfortunate dings to the body (yes even when parking two blocks away from the rest of the cars), is still not easily noticeable to the naked eye unless you're looking for it. A good sponge wash and then followup wax usually leaves it looking pristine for 1-2 weeks.

Owned a white car in the passed and with dirt ALWAYS being visible I was literally washing it every day, now I can get away without washing for weeks.

I've owned a number of white cars, including my current vehicle, and off white cars like silver/grey. They do stay clean looking with minimal effort. But the hyper blue and garnet red are some ungodly beautiful colors. They're nice enough to desire even off of this particular car, but on this car it just fits perfect. You can't beat those colors on the angular, muscular lines of the new Camaro. Out of your options I would definitely go blue.
