ha totally, it's pointless. Even in CA when I moved zip codes my insurance rate has changed dramatically. There are so many factors that go into a rate.

Doesn’t matter what ZIP Code, rates are not $50.

In am in HB, CA with State Farm for 3 cars (now 2 cars), home, umbrella, etc., >50yrs, married, no tickets and no accidents and my ZL1 as a daily is the same price as my 2014 Viper GTS was (Viper was a 3rd car and 5,000 mi. or less per year) at about $850 every 6 mos.! I was pissed and State Farm assures me that rates will be significantly lower in January 2019. If not, I will be switching to Autoclub, etc.

I hate insurance companies. I don't get how they figure their numbers. My 2009 Silverado with $500 deductible was only ~$50 less per 6 months as my 2018 ZL1 with $1000 Deductible. I should see what the cost of only a $500 Deductible is, I feel like they have been ripping me off for ever. 3 cars at the moment(aforementioned vehicles and a 2006 Impreza hatch back for the winter for the wife). 32 yr old, accidents were around 2006-2007, not at fault, happened while car was parked. No tickets, with progressive currently. $1,210 for all for 6 months, just tried looking up individual costs and could not locate on their website. |

$1,000 deds. My 31yo wife w/no accidents and a new Mercedes C43 is also $750-$800 or so every 6 mos. SoCal SUCKs for insurance. But seriously, the Viper was $135k+ with all kinds of expensive doo dads, including a $12,000+ hood. How can the insurance cost of an A10 ZL1 be the same. Just robbery!

Just got my Grundy renewal. $850/year. $70k agreed value. I’ll have to
Check the fine print for any other details but I think they are all favorable. I don’t daily mine so their plan works for my utilization. No mileage limit BTW. |

10 month old grundy quote which limits use to pretty much driving the car to shows and pleasure cruises, not to work or taking my kids to school. I ended up staying with my with current ins carrier w/ a new car 100% replacement rider for about $100 or so more and $500 ded, which lets me drive it any time anywhere. High liability is for my wife's professional ins requirement... which adds about $150-200 to every policy we have.

After discussing useage with one of their agents, and researching actual claims from customers on the Vette and viper forums etc.....I’m super comfortable with it. It essentially can’t be your daily driver, but driving it every day in a given week, or 8,000m a year isn’t outside of their coverage. If it’s a beautiful day outside and you feel like driving it to work, no problem. Taking the wife out of town? No problem. Taking the kids to school everyday like you mentioned, probably not gonna fly. What does your 100% replacement rider mean? They buy you a similar used Camaro? Or pay you back an agreed value (or what you actually paid for the car?) |
