Insurance costs
My $72k MSRP 2015 Corvette Stingray Z51 3LT was $166/mo.
Last month when I got the ZL1 with a $71k MSRP, I was quoted $211/month. A quote for a $54k used 2016 BMW M4 was $222/mo. My agency could only say "prices have gone up." How is everyone else doing? |

I pay $8XX annually through Grundy collector car insurance, but only drive my car 1-2x a week as a pleasure vehicle. Agreed upon $70k value. Unlimited mileage, but can’t be your daily driver.

I have too many cars, but I know when I replaced my 17 GT350 with the 17 ZL1, my insurance dropped about $200 every six months.

I came from a C6 Z06 car too, and the camaros were about 40% more a year to insure. When I questioned my insurance guy he claims that basically the corvettes even though were worth a lot more generally...they didnt have as many claims. Even though It might be true, its BS everyone gets stuck for the few.

I was quoted ~$4 per month extra to go from an '11 CTS-V Sedan to a used '17 ZL1 M6. Take that for what it's worth.

Rolo, you may need to shop around to get better rates. It's hard to compare insurance, since it's based on your age, credit history, claims history, postal code location of the car, home/auto/life insurance multi-policy discounts, multi-car discounts, insurance coverage, deductibles, the insurance company, and miles driven/pleasure usage. There may have been some significant state rate increases in the state of FL following all the hurricane damage last year.

Illinois is kind of high, but my 2015 M3 was just under $90/mo., and the ZL1 is about $10 less than that. My Jeep Renegade is actually more to insure! I have State Farm. |

Unfortunately my Auto insurance was due for renewal in October (right after Irma) and went up ~20%. Homeowners and flood both increased as well, but not as much.
My ZL1 is $1300/yr incl. a replacement cost rider, 48 & 50yo married, perfect records, garaged, homeowner, $500 ded, and 250/500 liability ($600 of the $1300), 800+ credit, no restrictions on usage. Declared value @ $70k w/ Grundy would have been $1000/yr but I'd have to give up the ability to drive to work, go for errands on weekends, etc. |

I pay 150 per month.... but we have several vehicles covered by state farm. About 25 more per month than my 2011 ctsv coupe manual

This question doesn’t make sense. Everyone has different cases, situation, coverage etc.

It's too hard of a question to answer unless you're getting responses from people in the same area/state. When I moved from IN to Eastern KY a few years ago my insurance doubled just by moving zip codes. I paid less for 12mos worth of coverage in IN than what I paid for 6mos coverage on the exact same (2) vehicles in KY. Moved back to IN and price went back "relative" to what it was before...roughly 12mos worth of coverage/price for what it was as a 6mos price in KY.
WAAAAYYY too many factors involved, but a thread like this can sometimes help you see other options to check with outside of what you have local. Just my $0.02 anyway |
