Even found a dark horse for cheap. If I didn’t buy my Camaro a year and a half ago I’d probably have went and snagged that dark horse later today. Kinda wish I waited tbh. Camaro feels dated since they didn’t update it much after 2019.
Apart from the big screen, what feels more dated about the Camaro than the Mustang? The rest of the Dark Horse interior is just as underwhelming as every other Mustang's, and even the (otherwise very nice) widescreen display looks like a tacked-on widescreen megatablet. The exterior isn't better than my 2018 SS in any way either.

I guess you're just itching for regular tweaks and changes, which indeed would've been nice, along with a digital dash.

Pretty much that. The interior having been out since 2016 has made it look a little old. Loved it back when it came out though. And yeah at first I wasn’t a fan of the interior of the dark horse/GT but I was at a Ford dealership last weekend and I think it’s something that wouldn’t have taken that long to get used to. Also would love to try a different engine as I’ve had 2 LT1’s. That’s what I’m really jonesing for, a new power plant. Would have been nice if GM threw the LT2 heads, cam and intake on for a small power bump.

One of the reasons I did not buy the 2024 mustang is the interior! To me it just looks like a truck interior for some reason! Even if the Camaro interior has been out since 2016, but it is more sporty and looks more European styling to me.

People think I'm exaggerating, but I wouldn't touch a 24+ Mustang if it were $35,000. I can't stand the fact that you can't even control your climate without using a touchscreen. Not to mention, you need to step up to a Dark Horse to avoid the MT82.

Most local dealers don't have any on their lots. One does, and they're offering $350 discounts lmao. They want nearly 60 grand for a premium, not even a performance pack either.

Exactly.

My friend is a big mustang fan so I've been in both his 2014 GT and his 23 Mach 1. Neither interior is as appealing to me as my G6. Both look either more dated or just cheesier than the G6. The DH adds the screens (which I can take or leave, or leave, or leave) but the rest of the dash is MEH and the steering wheel looks like it would be more at home in a Taurus or pickup truck. Modern (big tablet) screens alone doesn't automatically mean the interior looks refined or sophisticated, if the rest of the interior is disjointed and MEH. By contrast, the G6 interior is reasonably well thought out (save the center console armrest) and all the elements stylistically go together.

I'm probably part of a minority here but as someone who works in tech and spends more than 12 hours a day on a computer, the last thing I want is a cheap screen in my car.

It's not that I'm against all screens in cars, but they're usually so cheaply made that, in my eyes, they make the interiors look worse. Things like backlight bleed, colors shifting at angles, and glossy finishes are among my biggest pet peeves.

Look into one of these. Prices coming down. I've been around a few at track days. They are amazing!

Yes sir, that is my dream. Since a GT3 is probably never going to happen I'm hoping C8 Z06 can get within my reach. I'm a die hard manual guy but that car is so epic I can make an exception for that and the GT3. If I feel like I'm getting close to one as I progress in my career, I'll probably hold onto my Camaro for awhile. If not, I'm going to move to a dark horse. Seems like the best option out there for the track in the new market at it's price point.

They use the cheapest of everything for the interior, not just screens but plastic and pleather, too.

Speaking of cheap screens, the burn-in on my 2018's gauge cluster screen is ridiculous, the last time I saw that on a non-OLED screen was something like 20 years ago... I don't even know what LCD tech these screens use, it's insane how GM were so cheap they couldn't even swallow the cost of a proper TFT panel. At least the finish isn't glossy, heh.

Oh man, the potential for burn in hadn't even crossed my mind. Can't imagine that the screen in my dash will last much longer than yours then...

Damn, that's not cool! If you switch the content on the screen does it eventually go away or is it there for good?

Also, am I hallucinating or was there a bump in resolution at some point? I thought I heard that somewhere, but it doesn't make much sense to me now that I think about it..

Speaking of OLEDs in cars, don't some luxury cars have OLEDs now? Terrible idea if you ask me... With the kind of content they're going to display they're going to burn in (Or burn out I guess?) within a few years.

I'll take a picture to show you guys. It looks like an inverted and color shifted version of the image when the screen is actually off, classic burn-in.

Guess you can reduce it if you switch themes on a regular basis, but I don't, I use the standard theme (with the 4 mini gauges) 90% of the time and the technology theme otherwise. The outline of these four small gauges shows the worst burn-in, but it's not a big deal, you can only see it from certain angles and when the cluster is inactive. The only reason I brought it up is to illustrate how cheap these car makers are with their tech choices.

Yes, 2019+ cars have a higher resolution cluster (1920x1080 vs 1280x720) and possibly different panel technology (cross your fingers ).

I don't know, but the interior in my Pete is pretty darn nice

Wow, I didn't know LCDs could burn in to be honest. I've seen "image retention" issue on panels, but this does sound like proper burn in. Guess I should actually change themes from time to time..

Oh good I'm not going crazy. Well here's to hoping it's a panel less prone to burn in! (Fingers are crossed, lol)
