Mine are soot black on my ZL1 too! I have the exhaust set on Track mode for all modes.

I use a green scotch pad with soap and water. When I'm in a hurry, I use the pad dry, but is doesn't work as well.
Only clean the 'beveled' portion, not inside where the perforations are. Works on the outside too.

I use a good quality wheel cleaner and a stiff nylon brush. Once a month or so I apply a coat of cleaner wax. Helps the grime and soot come off easier.

Is this true? Just trying to understand how the exhaust modes work.

Berryman’s B12 Chemtool. Spray the tip, wipe off with paper towel. It also serves as an awesome wasp spray.

Look at post 60. That's why you're not supposed to leave the exhaust in stealth while on the track. I think this was the only ZL1 owner to have this happen to them or at least the only one to talk about it. To clarify my post. The owners manual says to not leave the exhaust in stealth while at the track or in competition driving. I know sport and tour will revert to the outboard pipes and I think stealth does but I have been wrong. Normal driving I would assume that leaving in the exhaust in stealth would be ok even with some WOT runs. |
