2020 ZL1/A10 Another Camaro for me
I sold the '13 2SS/1LE, I really enjoyed that car
https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=332717 Moved to a '20 ZL1/A10 Coupe, Rally Green Near the same power but with a warranty! Traded in the 1LE, couldn't find a buyer...........that surprised me. Also traded in the Miata, it was fun, but the wife did not enjoy it. EDIT: Dealer told me that the car was purchased by someone in west TX to add a blower and make a drag car out of it. I hope they looked at the compression ratio before adding too much boost........

Firsts
This was my first time at ECR and my first time driving the ZL1 hard.
So many excellent things. The track surface is s m o o t h and it is a technical track. Very enjoyable. It started raining the second session on Sunday, really learned the car then, still predictable. The car, WOW, smooth constant power and the trans knows where to be. Technology is cool. I was running in Track/Competition/Sport 1 mode. Stabiltrak/ECS on, Traction control off and normal throttle response. The suspension response, feedback and overall confidence was more than I expected. Going to this car was a good thing. The trailer hitch goes on tonight. It will be good to carry more than one tire.

Nice upgrade! Hadn't seen that color, but it looks really nice! I'm guessing the car will see some ZL1 1LE parts in its future.

Hitch
The hitch is done and on the car. Really straight forward.
Basically used the idea from Leroy Engineering for the hitch mods. The vertical plug-in style is popular with the Miata crowd. Leroy will sell hitches and converters if you don't make your own. I modified a Draw-Tite hitch and made the 90 degree insert. It will use Curt # 45023 ball mount, a 3 3/4 inch rise. I couldn't find a 'plug in' powered light converter, so I used a universal kit that ties into the car harness. All connections are in the trunk. I pulled the brake signal from the 3rd brake light in the trunk lid.

Steering Rack Cooling
The 1st part from the ZLE.
Quick description from Stephen12ZL1 here: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=572203 Great "what's in the trunk" from rlarsen462 here: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=551876 The dealer threw in # 84669205 duct kit for the ZL1 1LE since they knew I would track the car. Decent of them. Installation instructions in the PDF. The instructions say to remove the fasteners from the back of the front air deflector (handles air from the trans cooler) to facilitate removal of the front bolt on the noise shields. I used a dremel to open up the area around the bolt to make removal/install easier. The car is a DD, so I don't plan to keep the cooling ducts on, I'll put them on during normal track prep. A curious thing: the shield supports are marked L&R, but they are marked backwards. So the left one goes on the right side of the car and vice versa.

COVID-19
I read an article the other day about the dangers to the elderly and best to vastly reduce social contact if not to eliminate completely. Then I realized they were talking about me! DAMMIT! Don't feel 'elderly'...... hmmmmmmm, kinda offended. SO, we're keeping ourselves holed up for the most part.
A good thing though, I've been getting lots of honey do's taken care of, working on the cars/house/yard and such. Really getting super minor things done, like clean the seat filter on our 200k mile Maxima. You know you are working at the bottom of the honey do list when you're doing those sorts of things! Anyway, friends, acquaintances and future ones. Take care and be smart about where you go and who you see. We'll make it if we collectively are not stupid humans. Geoff

Didn't take you long to get to Eagles Canyon. I need to get on that track.
Car looks sweet and haven't seen another Rally Green like it around here. |

Catch Can
There are several threads on the catch can install. I'll cover quickly the known things and highlight things that were different for me. Here's a good thread: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=486967
The cover bolts are reusable, however the SC to head bolts are TTY and single use only. GM # 12679527 includes gaskets too. Several folks have had the bolts break if reused. Torque for both is 89 in-lb, Thx to Alain for the torque specs. During disassembly a couple of the washers did not come off with the supercharger to head bolts (TTY). Make sure you get them all off before reassembly with new bolts and washers. I went ahead and changed out the black grommets since the new bolts came with them.
