I have to almost stop reading C6 if I ever want a chance of talking myself into getting a gen6 Camaro. If you spend enough time here you learn that the performance is awesome, they look great, but the quality sucks, viability is poor and they might as well not have a back seat. The quality is what bothers me most.

Seat should not be showing thwt kind of wear already. I have service trucks with over 100k on them that don't show wear like that.

Here is my take on all of this. Most people don't take the time to write positive things. In general people would prefer to complain and in my opinion that's why you are seeing these problems. My car has been great. The only problem I had is when I ran over a big ass rock in a mountain pass and cracked my rim but guess what? The run flat worked like a champ.

The material on my seat is pulling away from the button on the top that puts the back down. I showed it to my dealer and they said they can recover the seat for me, under warranty, next time I come in for an oil change.

It's possible the cleaner is doing that to your leather..

Unfortunately not cuz I actually only recently started with the cleaner lol so maybe I'm too late? Either way leather shouldn't already be doing this. Probably the color makes it more noticeable, I've had black before and didn't notice for a while..

Some of you guys need to learn how to get in a car with bolstered seats. I'm not saying there isn't a flaw in the seats but living with a GTO for almost 4 years you learn how to not wear the leather getting in and out. You NEVER want to slide against the seat. You always want to sit in the seat bottom and then rotate into the car. That will kill a lot of the wear that happens prematurely.

What kind of cleaner are you using. It almost looks like that spot has been scrubber hard with a harsh cleaner a few times and something is rubbing there as well. That's certainly not normal wear and tear on any leather. IMO it's definitely not a defect.

Ok,
So after reading this I looked and my leather is dis colored in the same area. I've got serious back problems so I sit on the seat never touching that area. The seat belt doesn't touch that are. Really strange. That spot definitely hasn't had any more cleaning and condoning than any other area. I use top end leather products, it has only needed a couple very light cleaning and conditioning. Really strange.

+1

Nothing personal meant about this, but the pic with the cloth seats looks like someone is just putting too much body on the bolster while they're getting into the car.

I have the same spot as the pic in the OP. It's in a spot that I never even touch when sitting in the seat, or getting in. It looks like a rub spot, but I have no idea what could possibly be rubbing there.

As for in general wear, my seats are definitely showing it. I think part of it has to do with my husbands pants. He wears Carhartts and they're stiff and rough as hell, even a well worn old pair is still stiffer than most brand new pants. The drivers seat is worse for obvious reasons, but I do think this leather is wearing way faster than any other we've ever had in any car.

Even with all that, I still love my car, think the seats are super comfy and wouldn't trade it for anything.
