Front Drivers Side Seat Already Wearing

Anyone else have this issue? The car has just a little over 2000 miles on it and the drivers side leather seat already shows signs of wear. It took 3 years for my 5th gen to show signs of wear.

What part of your body touches there? It looks like it's on the side of the seat where your body wouldn't even touch it while driving anyway. Do you slide against the side of your seat getting in and out? May have to modify your habits after getting it replaced. Or maybe some part of the car is rubbing it? It looks really bad in the picture. I just can't see how it would happen

Looks like when you pull the seat belt forward, it's rubbing the seat.

Do you have a wider view pic that shows where exactly that is on the seat? I have a similar spot on my drivers seat, not as bad as your pic, but I'm curious if it's in the same spot. I can't figure out what might have caused it, doesn't seem to be a rub spot and I rarely use my seat belt, I know, stupid/unsafe, but just like with a doctor, I'm being honest to get to the right diagnosis.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Maybe a ring on their finger is scraping right there?

Looking just above and below it you have something seriously chaffing it as you get in or out. More then likely getting in.

No signs of wear on ours. Owned since Dec and have over 8K miles. Multiple drivers including my wife, daughter, son, and me. Has to be something rubbing it in that spot.

You've got to be rubbing something on the seat. You can see the excessive wear around the hole.

I know what caused it. When I get in the car I kind of slide across that section of the seat. I'm just surprised that it happened within the first 2 weeks of owning the car. It took 3 years to show any wear from that when I had my 5th gen. I've adjusted the way I get in the car but sometimes forget due to force of habit. The salesman who sold me the car thinks it may be under warranty. When I bring the car in for service I'll find out.

If you wear jeans, a lot of jeans have little stud rivit around the pockets, as you slide in the seat they will catch.

I have cloth seats on my Camaro (21,000 miles on it) and the cloth seats are also showing wear on them in the same spot. Only had the car 8 months and it looks like its 7 years old with 150,000 miles on it.
