The stock semi-metallic pads will leave brake dust...and a lot it, no matter what. Ceramic pads are the only answer. I'm glad my wheels are black....otherwise I'd already have switched to ceramics.

I saw that, LOL but said to myself hmmmmm.
They mention the SS but not the ZL1 in the main manual.
They say nothing about brake break in in the HP supp.

Yup, this is normal behavior with these pads and doing the bedding procedure has nothing to do with the level of dust produced. Actually just doing the bedding procedure with clean wheels will produce enough dust to be easily visible right afterwards if you wipe your finger on the wheel.

I don't have a ZL1, but my '16 C7 Z51 produces a lot of brake dust. I've tried various sealants and brake dust repelling products over the years. Some didn't work at all, others worked but left a silvery film/residue behind. Lately, however, I've had good results from applying Wolfgang Uber Rinseless Wash to an already clean and dry wheel (mixed at Waterless-Wash strength). Spray on wheel, spread with MF towel, flip towel and buff/dry. It leaves a very slick/smooth feeling finish behind, which likely prevents the brake dust from easily adhering to the wheel (makes the wheel look good, too). Is there an enormous reduction in dust accumulation? No, but IME there is a noticeable reduction. It may be worth a shot for your ZL1 wheels, especially if you already have Wolfgang Uber Rinseless.

I finally had the time to install these on the car. Definitely the right pads. Super easy install! Just drove round the block so don't have much info on performance or how much less dust there is yet. Will post back after 100 miles or so

Did the PowerStops Z26 on my C7 and didn't have any problems with performance outside of tracking the car (don't have first hand experience). Did multiple runs up and down Blood Mountain, Tail of the Dragon, 1/2 races and a lot of spirited driving over 8k miles. Not at any point did I feel the brakes had less bite, faded or less overall stopping power. I know the ZL1 is a heavier car but not sure why it would be any different.

Also, for good measure I had the rims ceramic coated when I had the car wrapped and it helps keep the dust down. Whatever is left easily comes off.

I have 1,300 miles on my car and heavy brake dust is noticable after 150 miles. I can't understand how you only have buildup after a track day.

They don't list a ZL1 specific part yet, but according to a few posts back the rears match other GM cars and the fronts are close to the CTS-V. I'm sure they will sort it out slowly.
