Pops was a huge chevy fan. Naturally, I ended up liking Camaros and Corvettes since I was a young gun.

Grew up loving Knight Rider, Trans Ams and GM cars in general.

Got a 1988 Firebird Formula when I was in high school. Thought it was great until I actually tried to race someone and then realized it's actually a turd.
Got a 1999 Camaro V6 shortly after joining the Navy because I knew I couldn't afford a V8, but wanted a Camaro. The Camaro was slightly cheaper than a comparable Firebird, plus I didn't want the pop up head lights of the Firebird

Tried to trade the 99 Camaro a few years later before GM stopped production on the F-bodies. Experience left me so frustrated I stopped by the Ford dealership to check out the competition and left with a new Mustang GT. Spent a lot of time and money on the Mustang. Loved it. Would go on to own 5 more Mustangs.

Drove nothing but Fords for the next 16 years.

2016 SS hits the street. At first I find it odd looking, but then it grows on me. It gets great reviews. I have a Vortech blower waiting to go on my 2011 5.0, but I know where that path leads (broken parts and lots of $$)

I check out the new Camaro. I drive it and though I couldn't see shit out of it, it has the blind spot detection system. Wife liked it a lot. Liked the idea of going fast NA and know it's easier to do in a car with a larger displacement motor. Liked the 8 speed transmission. Went ahead and made the trade even though I didn't get as good a deal as I probably should have.

After getting the car didn't realize that every aftermarket part is expensive as all hell. Didn't know that a cam swap was as expensive as it is. Should have done a little more research because that threw my plans off.

Still like Fords, still like Mustangs, still call out b/s on either side if I see it causing much butthurt. Will have another Mustang one day, plan on getting another one in the future.

I like the 4th gen F-bodies. I like the 6th gens. That's all.

I wasn't a Chevy fan. I was a Pontiac fan. 3 fourth gen Firebirds ('96, '98, 2000 SLP Firehawk). All were Formulas with 6M transmissions. Then GM dropped the F-Body and dropped me as a customer. I stuck my toe in the water and bought a GMC truck in 2008. We got along fine and I started looking at GM cars. With the Jaguars, Lincolns and BMWs seeming to push more of our buttons, we stayed with those makes. Both the C6 and Gen5 were interesting, but didn't hit the bulls eye.

Then came the C7 and that was a real strong pull. Then as the lease endings and pennies stacking up started to add up to a C7, the Gen6 started to be reviewed. I started reading and looking more closely.

I drove the Gen6. The SO drove the Gen6 and gave the thumbs up. We all know what happens then.

Loved them since late 70's... Even though my first car was a 77 Firebird Formula (the girls loved it). First Camaro was a 83 Z28, way too many miles so I traded, 95 Z28, then my 01 SS that I loved (Project car), then my 2010 2SS and now I have my 16 HBM 2SS, love this one the most.

I realized how beautiful the lines were even as a tike. In 1965 we got a Detroit Motorific Slot Car Track for Xmas and my parents bought me and extra car that was the 57 Chevy because they new it was one of my favorites. When 67 Camaros came out I took a look and thought these are interesting as the Mustang had already been out and I saw the first ones on display at the 64-65 New York Worlds fair when I was a kid before they even hit the dealerships, it was a red coupe. It was ok but I wasn't a real fan until I saw the fast back ones. Now remember in those day all boys were a bit car crazy in elementary school, we would sneak hot rod magazines into class and read them instead of studying and the mag would sort of get passed around like a Hustler magazine. In 1969 a school chums older brother got a brand new 69 Camaro either an SS or maybe a Z/28 but it was white with orange racing stripes with a stick and I remember him burning rubber up the street. The Gen 1's were my favorite and I thought the Gen 2 was a step back in looks when they came out in 1970. Then soon they began to grow on me quickly. And then it became a back and forth favorite of Gen1 vs. Gen2. In high school a guy had a 70 Z/28 sort of a metallic green with black stripes and yes it was badass. Gen 2 kept that style until I thin 74 when they change to that ugly backward slant front headlamps thats when I started losing interest in Camaros. My brothers friend bought a brand new 74 right after H.S. By that time power had decreased. I had a 69 383 Road Runner at that time and I could easily blow his doors off. Pretty much since 74 thru 2002 I was no longer impressed. But when they came out in 2010 I said this is more like it and bought a 2011 as my DD until I got my 2017. Sure the oldies were quick but limited due to the technologies then. They were fun too but of course can't touch SS's today. And yeh our Rev matches for us that still drive a stick is a kick azz feature.
Must be what he saw...

Hi, Just signed on and this is my first post. I have been into Camaros ever since I was 4. My dad owned many 67 Camaro ragtops as it was his favorite year. Throughout the years I have owned many Camaros from all the generations. I currently am building a 69 Camaro SS but going pro tour style and I am Installing an LT4 into it with a Tremec 6 speed. Really dug the engine when I seen it on last years Power Tour at the GM display. Once I seen the 2017 models, I knew I had to have a ZL1. So at this time I am currently waiting on my 17 ZL1 to be built. May 15th is the expected date. Hopefully there is no delays.

When I was 16 a guy in school had a sick '69 SS 396 that he had built up (cam, headers, carb, etc) and I drooled over that car. My first car was a '70 RS with the 307 and a 3 speed on the floor. My next one was a new '73 Z/28 and I haven't looked back since.

I've owned 13 Camaros over the years including my current car, a '15 Z/28, more than any other car model I've owned (and there have been many).

And, the last six of them have all been black. I think I see a trend...

I had always been so practical...

My Dodge Durango with 240k miles on it kept breaking down. My husband told me in November 2013 that I had to buy a car before the end of the year. So, I went out test driving cars that were on my "hit list".... and I wanted a convertible. Camaro was not even on the list but I stumbled upon one in the showroom in the used car section of a Toyota dealership. My husband wouldn't let me drive it...it's dark outside, you've never driven one... blah blah blah. Ok, so he left town the next day so after work I went back to test drive. The guy kept looking around and I finally asked him what he was looking for. He said he kept expecting my husband at which point I had to tell him that HE wasn't buying the car... lol. Turns out, I didn't buy that one because the jelly head tried to play numbers games and wouldn't give me the sale price of the car until I agreed to go to finance. So, I walked away and bought my very first fun car ever in my whole life... 2011 Camaro 2SS/RS Black....sent photos to my husband out of town and told him we would pick it up when he got back into town! Recently, while looking for a cash car for the last of the four kids, I stumbled upon a 2016 2SS Convertible Silver Ice with Gray interior and only 4100 miles on it. Still smells new.... I love it! So...the kid and I were both happy that day (though he had to settle for a 2015 Ford Focus...until he makes his own money to buy his own car and pay his own insurance).

When I would get sick in elementary school my mom would sometime pick me up and take me to a local craft store. There I was allowed to pick a model to build and paint from an isle long selection. I somehow migrated toward the 60s model Camaros and painted my first one blue with double white lines. 20+ years later I own a 2SS Camaro in Hyper Blue (after a few v8 BMWs).

Same for me. My uncle was a spoiled kid and pulled up to our house in a '67 when I was 7 yrs old. At 19 I got a '70 SS396. Now my 2nd is the ZL1.

Always drawn to 1st & 2nd gen Camaros while in high school.
My 1st car at 16 years old was a 69 RS. Burgandy with white and black interior, keystone mag wheels and white hockey puck stripe on the side. Beautiful car!

Traded it when I was 22 for a big block 67 Chevelle SS.

Had been looking into sports cars for a couple of years, mostly European ones.
Wife says that BMW nor Audi have a special look, and I have to agree.
M2, M3, M4, S3, S4 nahh boring....

Found Mustang and there was something interesting and with a V8! = Animal!
was like 4 seconds from buying a grabber blue one but got cold feet and said no.
But something had happend to me, I could not stop looking at these muscle cars, for months looking each day on Youtube.
- So I ended up buying the Camaro Fifty without even looking at it, just photos/videos. The Camaro seems to be a much more refined car in comparison and a lot better handling, still can bring the kids. (And yes I got the opportunity to actually sit in a Camaro about 1,5 months after ordering one and - WoW fantastic)

The special Fifty version did it for me since I plan to keep the car for a long time as an enthusiast car. So hopefully the value will stay stable with only 6-7 cars Fifty versions on the roads in Sweden.

Not my initial plan buying a V8 but could not resist, they will be extinct in a couple of years.

My dad was in his teens in the 60's in the height of the muscle car craze and always steered more towards Camaros and Pontiacs. Except for when Bullitt came out, he owned a Boss 302 Mustang for a few years then sold it before he graduated college. Rubbed off on me.
