I grew up with this 1968 SS, it was my dads car and now it's my car, been in our family since 1968, my grandpa bought it off a guy that couldn't afford payments on it, my aunt drove it to high school, then my dad and he kept it after that. He gave it to me before he passed. But basically I grew up begging to go for a ride my whole childhood, then begging to drive it once I was old enough, and then one day he said now it's yours. This is also why I picked krypton green for my 6th gen, obviously not the same color but I just love a green Camaro.

I have been into Camaros since 1982. Had a Z28 with a 4 speed. Kept it for 5 years and loved the look of the 1987 IROC Z. TPI 305 with 5 speed. Then the 1998 Camaro SS came along and I bought one with the LS1 6 speed. Kept it until 2010 when a 2010 LS3 6 speed grabbed me. I modded it and sometimes miss it but my '16 SS is way better in every way. I plan on keeping this one unless the 7 Gen is a vast improvement over the 6 Gen!!

since last year when i drove a friend home from the doctors in his 5th gen. after rotator cuff surgery.the wife started bitching that my pontiac solstice was too small,so i found a year old 2015 RS and got a good deal on it.it was kind of a turn off to have to pay $1600 to avoid the 4 cylinder in the 2016.it seems to me GM would do better to make the 6 the base engine, charge more for the turbo 4,but produce more like 375 HP. from it,kind of a middle ground between 6 and 8.

Lets see it was October 1973, I had a 71 Vega with 40,000 miles on it and I was going to trade my base model for a 74 Vega GT. Sitting in the showroom was a 74 GT Hatchback with a sticker price of $3,500. Beside it was a 74 Camaro with a 350V8 with a sticker of $3,800... it was a no brainer, I traded for the Camaro.

I subscribe to all the magazines and watch a lot of internet reviews, I was leaning towards other cars actually not that I didn't like the Camaro. I had a 2008 cobalt SS turbo and it was actually a beast at the time. So I always liked a SS the reviews dragged me in and my interest grew and I finally went for it December 29th 2015 and ordered one how I wanted it.
First Camaro for me, was a toss up But it won me over the last 3 cars it came down to for me were the Audi TTRS 2012-13 and a 2009 Nissan GTR. If I could of swung the extra money for a 2012 I wouldn't be here but I am extremely happy love all the tech and performance and there is no Gen6 camaros around me so it's unique to my small town. Lots of compliments.

I worked at a Chevy dealership with my dad for one summer in college...1997. The owner drove a 1997 SS in silver as a demo. It sounded so good...I fell in love with that two on the left exhaust.

I've been a car fan all my life. I predicted the 57 Chevy would be a classic when I was 3 years old. My uncles first car was a 57. He bought it the year I was born in 1957. I realized how beautiful the lines were even as a tike. In 1965 we got a Detroit Motorific Slot Car Track for Xmas and my parents bought me and extra car that was the 57 Chevy because they new it was one of my favorites. When 67 Camaros came out I took a look and thought these are interesting as the Mustang had already been out and I saw the first ones on display at the 64-65 New York Worlds fair when I was a kid before they even hit the dealerships, it was a red coupe. It was ok but I wasn't a real fan until I saw the fast back ones. Now remember in those day all boys were a bit car crazy in elementary school, we would sneak hot rod magazines into class and read them instead of studying and the mag would sort of get passed around like a Hustler magazine. In 1969 a school chums older brother got a brand new 69 Camaro either an SS or maybe a Z/28 but it was white with orange racing stripes with a stick and I remember him burning rubber up the street. The Gen 1's were my favorite and I thought the Gen 2 was a step back in looks when they came out in 1970. Then soon they began to grow on me quickly. And then it became a back and forth favorite of Gen1 vs. Gen2. In high school a guy had a 70 Z/28 sort of a metallic green with black stripes and yes it was badass. Gen 2 kept that style until I thin 74 when they change to that ugly backward slant front headlamps thats when I started losing interest in Camaros. My brothers friend bought a brand new 74 right after H.S. By that time power had decreased. I had a 69 383 Road Runner at that time and I could easily blow his doors off. Pretty much since 74 thru 2002 I was no longer impressed. But when they came out in 2010 I said this is more like it and bought a 2011 as my DD until I got my 2017. Sure the oldies were quick but limited due to the technologies then. They were fun too but of course can't touch SS's today. And yeh our Rev matches for us that still drive a stick is a kick azz feature.
