Sorry for the previous misinformation. My bad!!
My dealer just confirmed those #'s and matched the $101.52 (for the rear bar)and $85.12 (front) price including shipping. Delivery in one week. (sorry GMparts Guy!)

Matt at GM Parts Guy (really-I'm sorry) says even with Mag ride control you do not need a re-flash of the ECM unless you go the full 1LE suspension upgrade.

I'm looking forward to seeing if a set of "bars" has as much of an impact on this 6th Gen as it did on my 5th.

OP- I thought you were gonna give us some feed back on this modification on your car!

So $186.64 for front AND rear sway bar from 1LE? That sounds like a great deal. Where should I order them from? When I typed in those part numbers you provided in thatgmpartsguy.com, it just showed "shaft" and didn't have much description

More driving to come.

Also, measured the stock SS front bar exactly like I did the 1LE/ZL1 bar. It is 28mm. The wall thickness seems less than the 1LE/ZL1.
Looks like it's about 50% stiffer. But that might only make your car 20% firmer in roll if you didn't also replace the rear bar and the front and rear springs with firmer options. I'm not surprised that you didn't notice much change.

Also, firmness doesn't hurt ride quality anywhere near as bad as harshness, and harshness comes from other sources (shocks with excessive bump damping or other poor valving choices, hitting bump stops).

I'm happy with it. The suspension now is more neutral. To me, the factory SS setup always felt on the oversteer side, with the slimmer front tires inducing understeer at limits for safety.

Nice

Always good to hear when all it takes is just a simple tweak to suddenly make a car just 'click' for somebody.

Correct- $186.64 for both bars. No reflash to your car's computer even if you have Mag ride control. Sway bars improve (reduce) body roll and usually improve overall cornering ability and control. This is without any adverse effect on your ride (comfort).

On this occasion the best deal is in your own back yard- call your Chevy dealer and tell him you want the "good ol'boy price" (this one always works for me) or just the "jobber" price. Should be wholesale plus 10%.

Shipping is free but you gotta go pick it up at the dealer (good chance to make his acquaintance). GMpartsguy needed another $75 to ship to me on top of his $245 asking price, so this time it was the dealer's turn. But the GMpartsguy will always treat you right.

These are in stock in Lansing, MI- so they should get'em pretty quick for you.

Are these definitely the right part #'s for a ss? The description is disconcerting!

ps - shipping for me was around $20 from parts guy.

How much extra weight did the bars add over the stock SS parts, roughly 20lbs? I'm still on the fence with these. I really don't have any complaints with how the car handles right now so I'm not sure I should do it.

It wasn't always like that, seems they've shortened up the description.

In the 5th Edition of the Chevrolet Power book, it was described more completely, like "Shaft, stabilizer, front" or "Shaft, Rr Stab".

Yes your part #'s are correct. And you can bet the shipping from from the GM Direct website you're showing will be more than $20!

Sorry, but had a passing of family member, I had cancer surgery, my dog died, and my company decided to send me to Detroit. I am also trying to install a Magnusson Supercharger in between and I will be installing the sways at the same time. Life is interesting as long as you don't fold.

Hope you're not apologizing to me Gary- I was talking to Sledge, the originator of this thread. But I'm very sorry to hear about your run of bad luck-you're due for some serious good things now, so no don't fold brother!

Anyway, got my bars today but was disappointed by two things-
1) No instructions.
2) One of the front bar's brackets was missing.

I'm hoping someone can post a PDF file of the install instructions (like the one's in Sledge's video). I know it's not brain surgery, but I'd feel alot better with a "how to" in hand!

Also the dealer is ordering a replacement bracket (no cost- he lost it!), but we're using the same part # as the one still on the other side (#2093609). Can anyone confirm GM used the same bracket on both sides of the front bar? It's a good fit but confirmation would be appreciated.

Sorry to be so needy today. I'll pay you back in the future- you know that if we had any contact thru Camaro5.

Thanks in advance!

One other note- while looking around for instructions I saw ThatGMPartsGuy had reduced his price on these bars to $161.69 (see here- http://www.thatgmpartsguy.com/suspen...rs?parent=1034 ).

Sweet deal if you live a little closer than I do! Please share your instructs with me if you take advantage of this.

My front bar was missing both brackets so I just used the ones off my old bar. They are the same size and swap out in seconds.

As for instructions you can use the ones from BMR or I put some simplified ones on my thread.
