That's only one part of my frustration. I feel like GM was a very inconsiderate of current customers here. The depreciation before delivery and the timing of the announcement really bugs me. |

What happens when they release the next version. Remember the camo one with no spoiler.

You bought your SS at the beginning of its cycle and buying the ZL1 as special order after a recent release. Cancel your order and wait for the sweet ZL1 deals in Sept/Oct on dealer lots. Or save more $ as the ZL1 1LE is going to cost more when it comes out. If the tires are anything like the trofeos on 5gen Z/28, they will be great on the track, wear quickly and be quite expensive so plan accordingly.

The existence of the 1LE package basically gives folks two choices: a track-focused ZL1, or a Grand Touring ZL1. If you don't frequent the racetrack, the 1LE package shouldn't be a consideration. If you DO...then it should be an easy decision. |

Regular ZL1 is nicer looking in my opinion, not digging this package.

I guess I could still back out and wait some more, or what I plan to do is let others wait this time and after they've been out a bit if I still want one and haven't done upgrades already to mine play the market for a good deal. All that being said if I already had a manual like every 2017 ZL1 on the streets now I'd probably be a bit upset, but then they did come out in Oct so it's been over 6 months since these cars were ordered prior to this announcement. I do think a summer announce (Like at CamaroFest LOL) would have been better timing with Fall production, but Daytona is a really big spot for GM and the publicity is off the hook so hard to blame them there. Anyway good thread and great discussion. |

I really like the red brake calipers, nicer wheels (IMO), wider tires, black taillights, etc.. The spoiler and other aero changes aren't as appealing, but I don't dislike them either.
My order is at 3300 with a TPW of 3/06. If I could switch my order for a ZL1 1LE for < 10K difference and still have the car by mid summer, I'd go for it. I guess I am the counterexample to ZL1 and ZL1 1LE don't compete for the same market. I never had a desire to own a Z/28, because I won't be frequenting the track. The ZL1 1LE on the other hand has enough daily-driver friendly options to appeal to me. I'm assuming there will at least be some other non-track enthusiasts in the same boat. |

What is the reasoning behind the opinion the regular ZL1 will take a depreciation hit? This is a track package, both vehicles will have their market, they fulfill two different purposes.
But heck, I hope you are right cuz I want regular ZL1...calling dealer right now to offer 10K off ZL1. Darn...He told me to go F myself...guess they didn't take a hit. |

I heard a rumor they will be revealing the 1/4 mile version of the ZL1 shortly.
