I do not know if the entire car would shut down. Can you separate the individual wires that were damaged? If so I would tape the damaged insulation. I'm not sure how far from the connector the damage is but you could also try and remove the wires from the connector and then slide heat shrink tubing over the wire and reterminate into connector. Did the actual copper get damaged? That sucks but it is a very tall tire and a reason I'm going with a 19 inch wheel, drag radial available in stock diameter tire

I was told, but do not believe, if even one wire in a harness becomes damaged that the whole harness shuts down. Is that correct?
This happened to a co-worker when he put drag radials on. He said that his gauges started going crazy. He had a guy that he knew fix the wires or replace the whole thing (don't remember) and then re-locate them.

The harness is simply an organized path for wires. If one out of 8 get burned...then just that one component will not work...the computer won't know or want to shut down the rest of the circuits.

Not to de-rail, curios why I see so many running a 305/35R20 instead of a 305/30R20? 305/30R20 is already the proven factory size for the 1LE, why deviate from that?

I know if your looking to put a drag radial on that's one reason why.

Ender, can you post a pic of the harness damage? Much easier to determine a fix if we can see it. If it's just chaffed and not worn through you can likely do a quick fix, relocate it and wrap it in some protective spiral wrap to reduce the possibility of any future chaffing it the relocation wasn't good enough.

Unless that one wire powers the fuel pump. Then you may be dead in the water.

One reason is M/T doesn't make the 30 section. I needed inexpensive tires to afford the wheel/tire upgrade. Better tires will be more affordable next time around. I asked M/T to add the 1LE tire sizes.

Now that I have them the larger diameter does fill the wheel well nicely, give a little more ground clearance lowered, and has a little softer sidewall for marginal TX backroads.

My preference will be a 315 but options are slim to none.

315 R20 is hard to find a decent price street able tire :(
