305 rubbing damage

Did anyone have their 305s not just rub the wheel well but get all the way through the well and hit the wires? If so what were the effects of hitting the harness and how did you fix it?
I personally had mine tires hit the harness and cause the protective layer burn off and had damage to some of the wires causing a code and fuel pump issue.
However I'm told if the harness had even a little bit of damage the whole car would not work which seems strange because mine worked fine with the exception of the pump problem.
Any experience and knowledge would help a lot!

Edit:
Please notice the question does not ask if you had just rub.

what are the rest of your tire dimensions and wheel size and all that? I'm curious cuz I've heard of others with 305 not have issues and some with initial rubbing that went away

If you have stock sized tall tires you will get rubbing issues.

I had to go with 305/30/20's to avoid the rubbing issue.

Were you able to stay on that size even after you dropped yours?

I tried the 305's and yes they did rub the area where the harness runs. I went back to the 295-35's, its perfect

I moved the harness and everything is fine. 305-35-20, not lowered. But because of where the rubbing is happening I am not sure lowering matters.

I haven't experienced this problem but the obvious fix would be to repair the wires and either move the harness or change tire sizes. If you didn't fry any electronics consider yourself lucky.

Since their are many individual wires in the harness I need to repair them one at a time, correct?
I was told, but do not believe, if even one wire in a harness becomes damaged that the whole harness shuts down. Is that correct?

Hey wanted to say I love your videos but you made me cringe when you were laying down with your head and legs under the car without jack stands. Sorry to be that guy, but please be careful so you can keep making us videos.
