I did add in the price of the RS package. Heck, I stopped to look at a couple of stangs today at a local dealership. They had 2, a silver one for $38,xxx and a black one for 39,xxx. Neither one had the track packs and such. Dont you also have to add that to get Brembo brakes? (standard on an SS). I'm just comparing the base models and not going into the whole Boss, Laguna Seca and 1LE additions but since you brought that up a new 2013 1LE can easily be had for under $40k with the RS package. The stang is cheaper by 5-7K. I have priced them multiple times. MSRP between the camaro 1SS 1LE and mustang GT with track pack is almost $3500 cheaper. Ford also has higher markup on their cars so you can take double off to get to Invoice. Then the mustang comes with incentives while the camaro does not. This doesn't even take into consideration the HID's which are standard on the mustang, but cost $1350 on the camaro.

^^ This guys on target. Half the reason why I didn't buy a camaro is because of the price difference. I looked and looked cause if I was going to get a Camaro I wanted Leather, MT, HIDs, and White. All of them in the area were like $37 - $38 which I couldn't afford at the time.

So I just said the hell with it and got X plan and $3k worth of incentives for $28,100 out the door on a GT Premium.

More power through most of the rpm range with essentially the same peak hp output just at lower rpm. So 2 valves per cylinder vs 4 valves per cylinder. No VVT vs VVT. Essentially the same fuel economy from an extra 1.2L and the motor is slightly lighter than the coyote.

When it comes to motors I think the LS3 still takes it, but I think the mustang platform is better. It was built for the mustang instead of using a full size sedan platform.

Spot on brother.. I'm impressed.

The really fun thing is what will happen in the future when camaro moves to an ats platform (still a sedan but much smaller) and the mustang to an IRS.

Not to mention the gen V chevy SB that should come with the new camaro with supposed cam changes and possibly more control over intake and exhaust valves independently.

Can't wait to see how it all pans out.

Personally, for $1350 I would like to see a lot more out of the RS package than the HIDs. Why not also put in LED fog lights and LED tail lamps?
