Ontario Canada north of London....... 120 per litre x 4.54 imperial gallon = $5.45

My car will pull 25-27 mpg on the Imperial gallon.... A good deal is 95-1.00 per litre for us.... its only money

Huh?
I think he was referring to Carbon Dioxide emissions being plant food. Unfortunately, Carbon Monoxide (in addition to Carbon Dioxide) emissions from burning fossil fuels also contributes to the greenhouse effect, creates acid rain and is a known carcinogen. Not the kind of stuff plants thrive on.

In Riyadh, the current gas price is 91¢/gallon. Caracas Venezuela is at a mind-boggling 12¢. The reason? Government intervention! Their governments subsidize the price of petroleum products to stimulate their economies. That's part of why I stated earlier that high gas prices have hurt the economies around the world, benefiting only speculators and profiteers. A larger list of gas prices is HERE.

Exactly! I hate paying $10 more a week to fill my Camaro. But I hate paying $50 extra per week (food, utilities, rent, etc.) even more. This is the indirect trickle-down of higher energy costs.

The news program you were watching is most likely assuming the Chinese economy is growing at an average of 11%+, three times the level of the US economy, and is sustainable. However, there are concerns that China's currency is greatly undervalued and Chinese inflation is getting too high (food is at 6%). Correcting this will dampen their economic growth (and lower their expected energy needs). Hell, their growth is now below 10% and their government is setting 8% as a sustainable number...far below the number energy speculators are using to predict demand and set oil prices.

The last time it went past $4 the economy tanked. If a stop is not put to it soon fuel prices will knock the knees out from under the little bit of fragile economic recovery that we are seeing and we'll be back down for a double dip. When will the powers that be recognize that it's energy that drive the world economy and the American way of life. The "D's" don't give a hoot. They want high prices so we will all buy a Prius, build wind mills and live in the dark in some sort of eco-utopia. The "R's" don't give a hoot what we pay either because the more we "little guys" pay for energy the richer the energy companies and the rich guys get.

Just wait, $4 gas and $100+ oil will finally bankrupt the big 3, finish killing off the RV industry for good, kill the leasure and vacation industries, and drive the airlines back into bankruptcy. This will fuel hyper inflation at all levels, and leave the resto of us shivering in the dark with no jobs.

Well, of course this is what I would post if this were a politial site, but since it's not, I won't say anything like this .

Just heard on the nightly news tonight that by next year gas prices could exceed $5.00/gal here in the US! If that happens I'll be forced to really limit my "spirited driving"....uhm, NO! I'll just have to eat bagged lunches at work and cut down on coffee consumption so I can put gas in the tank! It'll definatly make it tougher for sure!

Ignore the doomsday prediction. It was made by the former head of Shell (a man with a vested interest in high oil prices). The cooler heads are saying 10 years. Here's the full CNN report.

I guess it's time to sell the Camaro, not ! The way I drove my 95 Cavalier Convertible , traded in for the Camaro, I filled it up about once a month. Hence maybe I will fill the Camaro twice a month.

I presume $4 a gallon by summer or sooner, then the market will plummet once again... Sad but prolly true

Unless we all drive 4 bangers it will suck but thats the up and down of supply and demand. I remember when gas was 33 cent and I would fill up on 3 bucks, but then it was possible to go to dinner and a movie for two on $20! I'm glad I got the v6 as this was going to happen anyway but heck our v6 Camry SE only gets the same road mpg as the Camaro so everyone driving will be in the same boat.
One thing I do is I use my AAA credit card for gas and it gives a 5% price rebate on the bill and thats like 17 cents a gal off. Might check it out.

Here its $2.799 (in most gas stations I think). The camaro belongs to my dad but I usually see the difference when driving it since my cobalt will fill up with $30 and last me the entire week (I drive a lot lol) and the camaro will use a quarter in just 1 day.

Blackbee, I remember $ .279 per gallon. That filled up my 57 Karmann Ghia for very little, of course I was only making about two dollars an hour !
