Gas is most expensive right across the street from the refineries.

That's what THEY want us to believe.

You could say the exact same thing, no matter where the drilling is done. In California's eyes, EVERY PLACE is or was wild, and should remain or be returned to the wild... but that's not practical.

And who says that oil isn't renewable? THEM?

It's called crude oil. We've found it. Global warming? We just came off a cold summer, and got a shit ton of rain... breaking rainfall and snow pack records.

I don't buy it. Anyone can look up the price of gasoline in Canada/Europe and do the conversion. But can you tell me what the cost of living is and compare it to the United States of America? What the average household income is? Do these countries have refineries like we do? Do these countries have domestic oil supplies? How do their economies compare to ours? How about their environmental regulations? - I'm sure they don't compare at all, so we can't really compare what we have to pay in USD to what they pay - converted to USD.

You can't compare apples and feces.

It costs me $76 dollars to fill my 2ss up with (94 octane) here in Canada. I wish we had gas prices like your's.

There are Yugo's out there for sale.

I do understand that the price of gas affects many people- I just think its a little funny hearing it from people who bought a 400+ HP muscle car.
It takes common sense to understand a simple concept.

I would rather pay $0.50 per gallon than $500.00 per gallon.

My 2010 SS gets twice the mileage my old vehicle gets.

If gasoline cost $0.01 per gallon, then I would only consider a car's mileage when it comes to how often I'd have to visit the gas station... for my own convenience.

If we all drove Yugos and had to pay $10 per month on gas and the price doubled... we would still be complaining.

My garden was SPECTACULAR this past year. Eight tomato plants produced over 40lbs of tomatoes, and the hops that I planted produced several pounds of cones the first year in the ground - without a fully established root system.

I blame marathon runners, and people of certain ethnic groups and religious associations who commonly reproduce in excess for the increased carbon dioxide levels in our atmosphere.

Take it as a joke if you'd like... but really, these people produce at LEAST 2X as much CO2 as I do, just by living.

Even so, I do not believe that ONE of fifty states can put an end to "GLOBAL warming".

Or maybe I just don't understand, and should consult a geologist who has worked with oil companies who wants to feed people lines to justify the rise in price of gasoline - PLUS crap down our throats and tell us that it's a good thing because it will inspire us to develop alternate energies.

~ so says the guy who grew up in and lives in a stinky smog-filled city. Does anyone know why LA is known for dirty air? Well I'll tell you. It's because we generally do not get windy days, or even days where a strong breeze is common. If the air doesn't move, then whatever you put in it will stay right above you until the wind picks up.

And I have been here 55 years, believe me this air in L.A is the cleanest in that time and thats per the reports.I used to do sports when it was really bad and it was hard to breath and run at the same time! We must be doing something right even with all the excess people.
