Everyone keeps saying how great we have it and comparing it to Europe and Canada. Screw that. What are they paying a gallon in Iraq these days? Last I heard it was less than fifty cents.
Sure glad we stopped deep water drilling. If you think they want to drill deep water anyway you're wrong. Our government told them where they could drill and now is pushing those jobs away.

I remember back in the day going over to Juarez and filling the car at ten cents a gallon. Multi-carbs, 4.56 gears on the street and 4-mpg didn't hurt so much....

Isn't any less painful in SoCal. I had to pay $3.23ish when I filled up a couple weeks ago. It was Chevron though. If I really wanted to save, I could've done Arco, but Chevron is all my baby has seen since I got it.

For those that say gas is expensive deal with it. In saudi gas is under .75 cents right now. You can thank our government for the rest. Did you see the price of oil for doing your oil change drop when gas prices came back down. NO! why not the cost of a barrel of oil dropped significantly. If I can charge you 4 dollars for a gallon of gas why the hell would I drop the price to 2 dollars.

My .02 cents
1.) It would not matter if lake Mead turned into oil tomorrow, someone would still tell you we don't have enough oil and charge you as much as they can until you break. Drilling off shore or any were else will not help the common person, only the oil companies bottom line. The closer the oil comes from the cheaper for them to transport.
2.) A government ran by rich businessmen, be it Rep. or Dem. will always look out for their bottom line first. Self preservation is the name of the game. So most people (normal) will have to just make their own way.
3.)People who drive their Camaro 10 miles a week should not be telling someone who drives their car every day it's no biggie.
4.) To all the wealthy people out there that would not mind 5 dollar a gallon gas. Just remember even though you have made your fortune. You can bet a bunch of people all around you have not, and one day someone might try to help themselves to what you have.
Take it with a grain of salt, no one said life is fair

I also look at the big picture. Yeah it cost more to fill up the Bee. But everything is going to cost more as fuel prices go up. Clothes, food and allot of other stuff is shipped by truck. So everything is going to go up and you may think it is not much but start adding up every nickle and dime you will get dinged for then you will figure out why you are broke.

You should feel blessed having such a large gas tank. My old truck has a 16 gallon tank, and I can't drive more than 140 miles before I start sweating bullets.

Doubt it as the news was saying that it will not go down due to increased demand from China, and in fact will probably keep going up.

It's only the begining. Made allowance for 4.50/gal for the 2011 HRPT. I bailed out last time gas hit $4. I will atleast 2nd half next year. Will just eat less.
