Stock ones pop off (trim tool needed) and the new ones pop in with clips. They work great

Nah, I’m going a completely different direction. Going with something older, more raw with more power than it should have haha. Just need the weather to get warmer so I can prep the car. Did a decent amount of track days with my 1LE so I need to take care of some wear and tear/maintenance before selling it.

I started getting back into dev work in my off time and was watching 2 Fast 2 Furious and Suki's S2000 has the track timer with the growling face during the opening race. I couldn't resist building a shift "light" to mimic the behavior. I've been working on it for the last few weeks and need to finish some of the design work to make it run off of wireless Qi power, rather than requiring the USB cable. But it's customizable to set shift point, red line, and monitors fuel levels all over a BLE OBD2 reader. Once fuel goes below whatever percentage you want a red light pops on under the RPM. I am very picky (for no logical reason) about my fuel levels.
Unfortunately I can't embed the video of the first time I tested it changing the display when I hit the very low shift point of 2500 RPM, so if you're interested: https://youtube.com/shorts/VTM-V4-k7-Q

Looks great! I am too scared to try wet sanding. Definitely would like to learn how.

Unfortunately I was a victim of civil unrest/Vandalism this past October and the 4/6 windows were replaced, new hood, new deck lid (got the correct one this time) and a complete repaint. SO even better than before. Quote:
I watched quite a few videos and chatted with the old man who has been wrenching since 1950. I started off at 2k wet sand to knock down the texture and then followed up with a 3k. I then used a MF/Wool pad and 3D Rubbing compound on my Flex DA to take out the wet sanding scratches and then followed that up with an orange or yellow pad and a 1 step polish (3D-One). It's been time consuming because I admit my limitations, that being i'm not well versed with a rotary and my biggest fear is burning though the clear. With a quality DA like a Rupes or Flex you have a MUCH less of a chance of that but you are going to double your time bringing the paint up. There are some great tutorials by Mike Phillips of Mequiars/Autogeek (he's a pro). Go slow, tape of hard body lines and stay away from them, use lighter pressure on convex/concave areas and lots of patience. Prior to this car I had little experience and each panel is a learning curve. The paint needs to gas off for 90 days and it's only been 60 so I'm not doing a sealant or a wax yet. That is for next month. These cars come from the factory with minimal orange peel but they do come with some. Knowing what I know now, I would have attacked the factory orange peel on the quarter panels and the lower portion of the door. I have an eye and have a small customer base but solely do this for my own enjoyment. The body shop that repainted the car did phenomenal work on the body itself as well as the paint job but unfortunately after 2 months and winter upon us the "cut and buff" where nibs and peel are taken care of the shop dumped in my lap so I could get the car home 3 days before Xmas. I was salty about it but ya know, I'd rather be doing it myself than to risk driving the car in slop and snow. She rarely sees rain and never sees snow. If you want to take a stab at that you are welcome to touch base with me.. I love to educate anyone who takes an interest in detailing.

I used a drill brush attachment, flitz metal polish, melamine sponge aka magic sponge and shop towels cut into smaller sections.. I use the shop towels to apply and rub in the metal polish, the sponge to do some of the heavy hitting and the drill attachment to break up what's remaining. I've also used bar cleaners friend in the past on the brush and it made a mess but worked hella fast. Shit slung everywhere. Took me 30 minutes to do all 4 and they were gnarly. I also recommend using a product by Eagle one Nevr Dull. It's been handy. Instead of a melamine sponge (you'll destroy the whole thing on all four tips) you could also try 0000 steel wool. Had I some on hand I would of tried that first instead of the sponge. Those melamine sponges you can get a 50 pk on amazon for $10 so I use them on windshields and light stain removal on interior panels. Plus they work amazing for stainless steel and pots/pans/shower walls.
