This happened near me. Awesome way to avoid high speed police chases. This is the first time I'm aware of where the car was damaged in the process.

I have not heard any instances of a Camaro being stolen because of public use of the fob though. Although that might be a difficult circumstance to document.

I just picked up a 2018 SS yesterday. I'm not sure how common it is for Camaro's to get stolen up here in Canada and I don't live in Toronto. Everything I see is state side for Camaro's getting stolen.

I have a Soler Throttle controller on my C7 and it has a throttle lockout function to disable the gas peddle. I was thinking of purchasing another one and putting it on the Camaro, even if they clone a key and start the car, the gas peddle will still be disabled. They would probably find the controller if they really wanted the car by investigating the peddle but it would certainly slow them down and even after disconnecting it and reconnecting the peddle, the car will throw a CEL and go into limp mode.

I would say normally here in the U.S. more rural areas are less targeted.

But I would say the Soller Throttle Controller would not be a bad idea either way.

Also can you link the Soler Throttle Controller as well?

Maybe check with the tuner? Their website says that it works with many tunes (they can't test them all, of course), but nothing about how it affects tunes. I'm sure they would respond if you message them. They have good customer service.
