I think this part could benefit from a carbon fiber cover. (I know, cover on a cover, but still, this looks raw 3D printed, not exactly an improvement to an already less than snazzy interior.)

Another reason I ordered 2.

I might try and hit with some 2000 grit or something. We'll see, also need to talk to mech eng at work to see what my options would be.

Let me know if this works for you. It looks good imo. It is a 3d printed hinge so it prefers to lay flat as opposed to flopping around and staying up but it moves freely, and I have no problems lifting it with the back of my finger as I go to change modes. I prefer it to want to stay flat as opposed to it potentially lifting and my arm or coat catching on it and popping it off.

One thing I almost screwed up on when putting it on is that the double sided tape portion is supposed to go on the inside downward slope of the ring leading down to the boot. The top flat portion does not give enough material to stick onto and it would also cover up part of the ebrake cubby. I thought this was a design flaw at first until I could checked the website and saw it was supposed to sit further forward. Simple, but someone in a hurry might miss that.

As previously mentioned here are some pics in my ZL1.

I would suggest, as anytime you use 3M VHB tape, that you get some adhesion promoter (Amazon Link); and clean the area of attachment first with some IPA wipes, then apply the adhesion promoter, then the VHB tape after 30s or so...

Overall thoughts: Worth the money. Looks fine. Lays flat, which was a worry. Kind of worried about the hinges, but this thing might get opened / closed 1x a week? So <shrug> not really going to fret over it.

Good job on filling a very small niche for us owners, and not charging an arm and a leg. I'll definitely look at your store every now and then. Kudos.

Thanks for the pics! The hinge we are using is stainless steel, so there shouldn’t be any issues, even in more humid environments.

I haven't installed my yet, other life things got in the way, but I have one suggestion. Maybe, if possible, add a spring so it closes automatically after you make your change.

Without making it look gaudy, I was thinking of adding either a bowtie or SS badge on the cover, but most I'm seeing online are too large for the task. Just trying to think of something to make it look a little less generic.
