I have been running the Proxes RRs for a couple of years with 800+ RWHP, but I only drive it when the weather is nice so no worries about wet driving.

I made that comment from a cornering perspective which is the wrong perspective for this post. The Nitto is obviously better than the OE SC3 at the big power levels, it's a drag tire.

I'm a big fan of these tires. I run them around 28 psi for street.

Ok, I thought you were trolling us lol. For the road track I have the Eagle F1 Supercar 3R tires.

Haha, no, I apologize for not clarifying my opinion. The 3R rocks on the road course, I've been running them for years.

I just had Hoosier Track Attack Pros (TW200) installed at the beginning of the month. I wanted something "better" than my Michelin P4S for autocross and was thinking good street tires. They appeared okay for the road but since they were new (and needed heat cycling) I didn't really get on it too much but ran them back and forth to work over a week, but wanted them ready for the upcoming event. A few Sundays ago I did some autoX with the Corvette club. Needing to say, I ended up just behind the lead Vette running on TW100 tires and seasoned driver (out of 24-ish drivers). Not bad for single "Metal" car in a plastic world. Plenty of pounding the tires on straights and traction was tight (I'm not 800whp (yet)). Verdict is still out on the Hoosiers as they're coming off today since freezing temps are coming here in CO but initial runs showed they'd hook hard nailing the throttle when 15-25mph.

brand new and 42 psi they will feel sloppy for sure. I had this exact thing happen last week. I dropped the PSI to 30 and gave them a few heat cycles and now they are much better. They are still a tad bit less planted than the OEM tires, but nothing like when they were brand new and they had 44 PSI in them.

But my 60-130 draggy times dropped from 6.4 to 6.1 in 78F weather. when cooler weather shows up I'll be in the 5's.

Not bad for a bolt on ZL1

Those tires don't have near the sidewall stiffness of the OEM SC3's, or even the PS4S's. Really hurts the car's handling.

I need them for straight line, lol, not for the road course.

You might be thinking of the original NT555R which was definitely the case. But the R2 has much better sidewall stiffness and I haven’t heard any complaints about the R2 sidewalls.

Agreed 👍

How's the straight line traction with these? I'm looking into getting new rears for the car. If you were to do a pull starting at 40 or 60, how bad does the car spin?

I'm not sure yet, as i haven't had a chance to try them out again. Others on here can comment though.

That depends on your power level. I used to pull 3.4 0-60 on the street when I just has basic bolt-ons. Now with 680-700whp it will hook from 40 with some heat in the tire. I have been a best of 3.0 0-60(2.7 with 1ft roll out) easing the throttle down from a second gear launch on a unprepped concrete surface. Its a low to mid 6 second car 60-130 if you are into that stuff for reference.

I am into that stuff as I feel it's a fair reference. I'm over that power level and having a traction vs gear issue. 2nd would be my ideal gear but as soon as the turbos spool, I spin. 3rd gear the RPM is too low and even brake boosting still doesnt help too much. It'll take about. 3s off building 0psi. 2nd gear spinning and having the extra shift vs 3rd gear is .1s/.2s.

I don't want any crazy tire like the Toyo RR or MT ET Street R unless it's something I absolutely need. I still want a stock look. I'm leaning towards the 555RII. Looking to run a 305/35/20.
