The PF63E is likely longer than the PF63. I could be wrong, just sayin'. Good luck. |

I'm using WIX XP.

[QUOTE=90503;11449228]FWIW Your first pic shows PF63E, the second pic with the ruler shows a PF63...Just comparing the two pics, the PF63E looks taller.
The PF63E is likely longer than the PF63. The older PF63 has a by-pass pressure of 12 PSI. The newer ecore PF63E has a bypass pressure of 22 PSI. Actually, the PF63 "replaces" the PF63E which earlier replaced the PF63 (follow that product nomenclature logic) according to GM. I'm thinking older stuff (getting old things years ago seem days ago). The PF63 does provide more filtering surface area and is a suitable, if not better filter choice, IMO.

Here's a picture I took a while back of them side by side. PF64 is for my Camaro ZL1 1LE, PF63 is for my 2015 Impala 2LZ

I wouldn't run a longer filter and we change oil soon enough it doesn't matter.
I also use WIX XP, it's an upgrade over PF64 imo.

I would go with the oil filter for your ZL1 but a good quality one! In my opinion no need to go with a different one.

Well, the PF63 will install and not hang too low to affect ground clearance; however, it will contact, and remain in contact with the crossbar - not something I prefer. I’m reneging my suggestion to use it. Sure worked fine on my LSX but not in Gen 6 application.
