Now I see a lot of 2SS allocations being available but the PDR is again on constraint. My new car just got to it's final rail destination today! Next week I'll be driving that baby! I'm sure I'd be at 1100 still had I waited it out...

Your scenario sounds like mine with my old SS Sedan (notice I said old). I jumped on one that was on a dealer's lot as I didn't want to wait and order a 2017 (last year they were made). While I loved the 6 years of ownership, and actually grew to love the color even though it wasn't my first choice I missed the manual more than I thought I would. I figure in a few years you'll miss it and by then the current Camaro will most likely be very different. Just something to think about.

I am and you're right about the hardest part being right now! I just have to ease up and let it happen...lol. My dealer said it is due at their location on the 26th then they need a few days for dealer prep. Driving me crazy...

Believe me I thought it through before I took the automatic. In the end the A10 has a good side too. Like driving in traffic, remote start, launch control, faster in the quarter mile to name a few. I paddle shift my 14 and it's fun to drive. The bottom line I'm good with my decision. At least I have one of the last 2SS 1LE Camaro's built before the model pricing goes sky high in 23. Inflation will assure that is going to happen along with the "Last Year" price increase. The younger generations will buy the E-Camaro. Not me, I Love American Muscle.

Those were all valid points for me getting the automatic SS, the daily driver part especially. While I actually didn't have much issue with my GTO (M6) as a daily driver, I definitely understand the convenience of the A10 (much more with the addition of 4 more gears than my SS and 6 more than was available with the GTO). I guess either configuration is going to be nice to have. I was just putting it out there if there was any chance of you holding off for what you really wanted as I also went for the auto and then later just became obsessed with wanting to get back into a manual. I figure their days are really numbered these days.

I really hope I don't regret my decision. I do have a 69 Firebird that has a 4 gear manual in it. Maybe I can drive it to get my fix. lol...time will tell...

It's one of those unpredictable, subjective aspects you'll have to find out about yourself.

I drove only stick shift before an auto Grand Am, then decided to go for the auto trans with my 2018 SS. 4 years later I still don't regret not getting the M6. There are a scarce few times I miss a good, juicy 3->2 downshift in a turn or rowing through the first 4-5 gears in a straight line, but it's rare, and the yearning is not particularly strong even then.

Performance shift mode in the auto is a pretty nice invention, it adds a lot of character back, and being able to "shift" with the lever and the paddles is nice to have as well. Still not a manual, of course, but personally, it's more than good enough for me, very convenient and intuitive after a tune (meaning "I couldn't shift better than this thing") 95% of the time.

LOL! It won't be long now. I still think that the dealer will receive the car before the 26. My guess is they will see it sometime the first of the week. I hope I'm right. A few days for prep is nuts. A day should be plenty. Hopefully you will be driving it by next weekend.

I've got close to 600 miles on my car now. In fact I changed the oil at 505 miles last weekend and I can now take it up over 4k ram, although I'm trying not to over do it.

I will have a better idea tomorrow as my salesman went on vacation last week. I call GM anyway. They give me better information than my salesman anyway. Oh man, that has to feel good to get the R's up!! I can't wait!! LOL

MCMike our stories are SO similar! It's crazy. I put a deposit on a rapid blue 1SS vert Oct 2021, and just this month found an out of state 2SS rapid blue vert that is still in transit. I'm spending about $10K more, but I feel the extra amenities justify the price. I could have waited it out, as now when I check with Joe, my original order is at 3000 lol. Go Figure.

I feel I was very patient. I even reached out to JoeP here, and waited a good month with him for an allocation. all to no avail. I read a thread on ordering out of state, and did my 1500 mile search. Came up with only 3 exact matches lol. Emailed several dealers. Did NOT consider any who wanted over MSRP. There were plenty lol. Found some straight up ones, talk to folks with different regional accents lol. Pleasant experience. Found my 2SS closest to what I spec'd, with the best deal.

Waiting for it to leave "bayed" status....

Hopefully you have been able to get a better handle on the ETA today. I hope for your sake it shows up this week.

It is good to get the rpms up, although I'm still trying to not get too frisky with it until a get a few more miles on the engine. So far it doesn't appear to have used any oil either before or after my oil change. I checked it yesterday after driving the car both Saturday and Sunday and it's still reading full.

Next Monday I'm supposed to take the car to have PPF installed on the front fascia.

lol, pft I gave her all I could within the first 800 miles (low, high, medium RPMs) and have yet to change out the oil. I spoke to my service advisor and was told to follow the manual. The funny part, I won't take the car out if it's raining or if it's below 50 degrees.

I believe the manual calls for an oil change at 500 miles. I just knocked mine out today, at ~650 miles.

I didn't entirely baby the car during it. I CERTAINLY broke 4K at least a few times. I just make sure to vary my RPM a lot and let it get properly warmed up before beating on it a bit.

And now begins changing my own oil since 10 quarts is freakin' expensive at the dealership.
