Agreed. Then start working on that back up plan, makes better use of time LOL. Just noticed you drive a Toyota Supra. Loved them. I had a Black 83' that got stolen and Purple 84' I kept for 20 years. Great cars.

I got the Supra last may because I got impatient waiting for the Camaro.

Read my other posts about this, it's explained and tells your where to look on the DOSP system to verify. Call the dealers and email the GSM or above, introduce yourself. Tell them to notify you when they do have an allocation. A dealer with allocation should have nothing to hide. If they won't (show you) well then, you most likely have your answer.

The more I read these threads the more lucky I feel after waiting one week shy of 6 months at 1100 before I jumped ship as I found one in transit and at MSRP. I wanted the stick but settled for the automatic. I'm really glad I did. I wanted the PDR which was holding up my allocation. I got it in the new car. Now I see a lot of 2SS allocations being available but the PDR is again on constraint. My new car just got to it's final rail destination today! Next week I'll be driving that baby! I'm sure I'd be at 1100 still had I waited it out...

I've tried too. I even posted instructions on how I did it. I got lucky. The dealer I got my car through is only 100 miles away.

I have looked pretty carefully and there zero 1LS, 1LT, 2LT or 3LT's within 1000 miles of Tucson that aren't listed as " in transit" with no ETA or an ETA listed that is probably a lie. The odd more expensive I won't vouch for as am not in the market. Are whatever cars like this that are being delivered going the Midwest/East? Is the plant shutdown and they just aren't completing/shipping anything? Are all the "chips" GM gets going to trucks/big SUV's? All of the explanations, chip shortages, truck driver shortages, rail car shortages, etc. don't explain this. I was just at my local dealership this week and they had two new vehicles on the premises, a 2022 Equinox and a 2022 Corvette of all things. And it is not like they are getting cars in at all and delivering them. Other than the the Service department the place is a ghost town and it is one of the biggest stores in Tucson. |

They also have another 2SS 1LE A10 in white and a ZL1 coming. Is it a good sign that they are receiving any at all?

My car had been ordered last summer, but the guy who ordered it got tired of waiting and went another direction. So I was able to grab it when it hit the Chevrolet website. It was 250 miles away, but that ended up being a nice drive back.

This thread and numerous other ones is why I bailed on the Camaro idea entirely. Its getting stupid now, as if it wasnt stupid already. My dealer, who I had worked with before & trusted, took my order back on August 2021 and nothing happened. At all. Cant order the V6, no allocations, blah blah. I stuck it out for as long as I could and his last text was: "Hey, I can order you that V6/MT now with a 6-9 month estimated delivery time". Awesome. Get the car just in time to park it for the NY winter! . Thats if it even comes in which itself is a risk. !@#$ that. Nah, Im out. I havent visited here much since then but it appears its the same old same old. Just. Wait. And keep waiting. Then wait more. Or, order a $65,000+ dollar Camaro and magically you get it faster. Hmmmm. Its a Camaro for chrissakes. There ought to be 10+ on each dealer lot with discounts, lol. This "order and wait forever" is just a fail. Sorry - life is too short. Ive ordered something else and will have it very soon. Best of luck to everyone and I hope you get your cars soon. I really wanted this to work but at some point ya gotta cut your losses and move on. |
