Ken at KNS was talking about doing a 2 piece rear floating rotor but cost for the pair for was like 1K. The other issue on the rear of the SS anyway has a full diameter splash shield that would need to be cut down to the minimum and still protect vital parts, similar to the SS track kit for the front.

These pictures show the rear of a C7 Grandsport 2 piece rotors and rear duct cooling. We could use these rotors on the SS but the hat is not the right size. (Bottom picture is rotating 180 no matter what I do)

The J6M rear SS 1LE rotor is 340mm and the J56 C7Z / GS steel rear is 365mm with 12mm stud holes with a steel 2-piece hat. That rotor is the same OD as the one-piece Gen 6 ZL1 J6H rear rotor.

All brakes will get hot, by design. But ive never heard of rear calipers going "Brownbos" no matter what pad, suggesting cooling is not an issue per se. Personally, I'd rather spend $ on different components.
Now, if i ran 24hr enduros, i may think differently

Air does flow from the rear of the rotor
If you wanted to open up the slots in the dust shield as shown in carguy55's photo, perhaps more cooling. I haven't heat cracked a rear rotor, yet. To paraphrase TrackClub, if it ain't broke don't fix it

Bolt pattern is 5x120.65 on the Vette vs. 5x120, 70.7mm center bore vs. 67.4, etc., it's 2mm thinner ring, hat is different, and so on. About the only thing that is common is the ring OD. Anything can be made to work, I suppose.

So far my mechanics only been able to find separate dust boots and seals sold by Racing Brake for $200 per front caliper! Does anyone know where I can find piston dust boots for a better price than that? Or is my best bet to return what I bought and just order the complete racing brake kit which has vented pistons and dust Boots and seals for $250 each side?
