New tool for logging- what do you think?
I just came across this gauge by banks that can also log data. It appears to be able to log almost everything, and the company sounds like they are able to add more. If they can add KR, this would be great. There is a feature to set alarms, so an alarm for any parameter could be put in. Also shift light. Thoughts?

Thanks a lot, you just cost me $500 dollars.
Lol, it looks pretty cool, allows you to read and clear CEL's on the fly in addition to the data logging. I've been looking for something like this. Thanks!

Really cool. couple-o'-things the visual area is already pretty challenged on the windshield, and also think of that as static data, until you can run the graphs to put the data into context. graphing csv export can be a PIA even doing projects out of HPT. ZZP has a pillar based dial to take a look at also. I would find shift point alerter helpful. Lastly for the price, its close to HP Tuners which does has everything observable, for down the road you might want to uplift your own mods someday, no awkward exports just real-time graphs and charts, and also you can get experience right on "THE" platform the pros use. hours and hours of fun. plus there's a slightly active forum for HPT users to work off of and of course Camaro6 hint hint!

THAT is cool! I've gotten comfortable with the idea that no one is running across the track while spotting rpms! I like the pillar gauge still, is on my hit list too.

It’s a multi-gauge like the Banks. I don’t believe the P3 logs data.

It looks nice. I'm unsure though, what good is logging if you can not change a problem you do find? I'm with wookwook, HPT interface is 299$, and will do worlds more in comparison. Then you have the option to change things if you buy the credits for the car. I have the P3 vent mounted gauge myself, it does not Log, Trochoidal is correct, but it is nice for instantaneous data, such as AFR ect...

the question comes down to this. having to watch Project Runway or Dr. Pimple Popper with your s.o. or pull out the logs of that last 0-60 run looking at how you might catch that optimal torque band better. huh? huh? yea that't right/ you know what I'm sayin.

I had a chance to look at the P3. I would pick the Banks because 1. its cheaper ($399) 2. displays up to 8 parameters at the same time 3. Logging
I haven't read enough on the HP tuner to comment. But I am glad to have seen this as another quality option. |

I myself have been using the Banks gauge in my Camaro. I previously had a AEM OBD gauge which did "the job", but the iDash is many times more superior.
After using it for awhile I can tell you the things I like about it most are that it has a large number of PIDs you can monitor (being that Banks helps do some R&D for Gm that they are given deeper access into the GM ECU data than general OBDII data), how easy it is to configure how many PIDs & what you want to monitor on the screen, you can configure multiple "pages" of PIDs and scroll thru them easy, and you can custom configure your own PIDs / aftermarket sensors (I use mine to monitor my Ethanol content - a expensive option for other systems, if they can do it at all) On the "page" functions, I have mine setup on the main screen to look at the 4 PIDs I want to know most of the time. I look at Boost, Knock Retard, High Side Fuel Pressure & Low Side Fuel Pressure. Then I have one page setup for fuel parameters, one setup for timing parameters, and one setup for driving (trans gear, axle torque, Air Density, etc.....). You just hold one button and it will scroll from one screen to the next. And if you need to monitor something you haven't thought of, it is very fast to setup a new screen, use it for awhile, and then delete it. Another thing I like that I haven't used yet is the fact that you can piggy back onto it. You can add a second gauge that is the "Data Monster" which will allow for data logging, and you can even integrate all of the Banks Sensors into it like their "weather station" which monitors ambient temp, humidity, and air pressure. Things from temp sensors, Meth injection pressure, etc...... I think it is a spectacular product for $250 |

Can you see semi accurate boost readings from obd2 or do you have to run a vaccum line? Does it have the ability to run a vac line?

I'd think to get 100% accurate you'd need to run a line. Itherwise it could be skewed.
