We didn’t need a fanboy GT350R commercial in the middle of a GT500 HP post on a Camaro site. I don’t hang on Mustang forums but that’s just me.

Two things I can agree with is he got the car he wants and the GT500 should be offered with a manual.
Ford offered the DCT GT500 because they knew that the ZL1 1LE was going to have the A10. They needed to keep up. The GT500 is going to be a fat boat with less torque than the ZL1. So with all that extra weight over the front wheels, it will not handle as well as the GT350. The GT500 will be strong in a straight line, but I really don't think a 4100lb car will handle that well.

Dude, come off it. The GT350 is not all that you're making it out to be. And you did not buy one below MSRP unless something was wrong with it, it had too many miles to sell as a "New" car and had to be sold as a "Used" car, or you bought it used with high mileage. And lets set the record straight, for all that you think the GT350R is, the ZL1 is more. For everything that the GT350R does great, the ZL1 does even better. If the GT350R is a surgical scalpel, then the ZL1 is a precision laser scalpel...but faster. So you're not impressing anyone with these stories. Dude has a Z06 but was soo impressed by a 5.0 GT that he went and bought a Bullitt? Are you kidding me?? I test drove an 18 GT with A10 trans...and trust me, any desire I had to buy one was completely gone after I drove my Hellcat back home and then drove my ZL1 to the store. And while you're waiting for 4K RPMs...the ZL1 is blazing past and is gone to the point that there is no catching up. So come off the crack pipe.

And I'm not trying to be mean, but most of us are very well versed in the GT350 AND the GT350R and we would not touch either car. One guy on here bought one and that was just because his ZL1 had way too much HP to be driven on the streets. And he didn't go on and on about it like it was this raving acid trip that you must have been on. I get it. You love your R. And that is cool. But I and the vast majority of us here have no interest in buying one.

For the record, I tried convincing myself to buy one to add to me ZL1 and Hellcat and I just can't buy one of them. Not when the GT A10 is faster in a straight line and the PP2 and SLE can keep up with it somewhat around a track. For GT350R money nothing from Ford but the GT500 should beat it at anything or even come close to it.
If I was to tell a "fairy tale" I would probably say I did better than $100 under MSRP. But I didn't and that's what I got for my R deal. They did low ball me on my HC and I walked but the sales manager called me later that evening and gave me exactly what I wanted for it. Deal done. NEW car.

My neighbor has a Bullitt parked right next to his 17 Z06. He bought it approximately a week after attending Track Attack with me back in April. He never said he likes it over the Z. He likes them both for different reasons.

I get why it is unfathomable to people on the coasts to see or get an R under at even at MSRP. ADM's out there are absurd. But it does happen and it did happen a lot. I wasn't even close to the best deal I ever heard of.

It's called exclusivity, specialty, and viscerality. Nothing the ZL1 is. The A10 must be real rewarding, for those that can't shift.
Tell me, does that feeling of exclusivity, specialty, and viscerality (not a word btw) come during or after the dealer bends you over the hood and takes $10-20+K out of your ass?

I know, I know- you didn't get bent over the hood but, you surely know a lot of people who did. I'm sure they were able to describe it to you. Does the dealer even offer a reach around??

I think the A10 going in the ZLE is actually because the GT500 will have a DCT. GT500 was announced with the DCT on Jan 14, and Chevy announced the A10 for the ZLE on Jan 29.

Who cares. It's a RWD car with 760hp. It won't have any traction on the street just like any 600hp+ RWD car. So launching from a stop means it will be sideways unless you feather it.

See no point in these cars (except to say you have one....yippeee!!!) unless you make them AWD. Otherwise, a standard GT or SS is way more manageable on the street and less frustrating.

I find that hard to believe considering there were people who shopped all over the country and could not find one for less than $5K above MSRP. Some even paid $20K over on the R. If there was one at a dealership at MSRP or even with $100 below then there would have been a mob of people offering $1K or more to buy that one and it would not have lasted more than a few minutes. If your story is true, then it was a special case and you knew the dealership or had a long term relationship with them. But you certainly didn't walk into some unknown dealership and walk out with a R for $100 below MSRP. I don't believe that for a second.

And about your neighbor. I am not saying he didn't buy a Bullitt. I'm saying that he didn't go to some track event and drive a GT PP there and was soo impressed by it that he bought a Bullitt. The Z06 is lighter, more nimble, way more HP/TQ, and has a way better suspension than even the GT350. So I find it difficult to believe that a GT PP1 would impress a Z06 owner that much. Like I said, if he bought a Bullitt, it was because he needed something that was better suited for DD and did not want a GT or SS.

The GT500 will have a huge HP advantage over the ZL1. The base GT500 vs the ZLE should be the match.

(we all know that lack of torque is overcome by gearing in M6G land)

Yes, I have noticed that most Ford Fanbois can't spell.

Both companies have spies wouldn't you say. They both knew what was going on. They made the decision long before announcing it.

We get it. You're a tough guy. Move on man, it's not good to obsess with dudes on the internet. When you learn to have a normal conversation we can revisit this. Bye bye now.
