Otherwise you'll be waiting a while. It's a shame that you pay more for less options but it's not like they gave us much of a choice. Not like the Bose option was offered by itself, it either came with the trim or came with the 8" screen and who wants the 7? nobody. edit: was just thinking, they probably do a good bit of digital shenanigans before decoding to analog so that idea still might not be perfect. But it would at least be an improvement over using the amped speaker outputs. Last edited by cellsafemode; 01-14-2017 at 05:47 PM. |

The one thing I don't get is, "Why the 6x9's on the parcel shelf?" Seems like they could have saved a few bucks by using smaller speakers. One other thing I got out of re-reading some of the old posts is that there is a very good chance the center channel speaker contains signal not present in the left and right front speaker feeds. I did see this pic before posting my question. Is the "holding concrete clay" attached directly to the carpet? How do you remove the enclosure if you had to replace the sub?

That is not the case, the Camaroīs Bose Audio System is 2 channel based, the Center Channel is only a fill speaker with content from L&R. Only Dolby 5.1 based systems (like those for movies on Home Theatres and high end SUVīs for the rear seats screens) have center only signals.

The idea to use pre amp signals is not feasible now, that MOST signal is GMīs propietary code and it would thake countless hours from an expert software programmer to decode it, it would cost $$$$$ it is just not worth to do it when you can use a Mosconi DSP or JL Audio Fix.86. Can't have people buying cheap trims, then buying only what they want through the aftermarket. how are poor OEM's supposed to feed their families? |

OP (MPSCAN) - did get your mic issue squared away? I am waiting to hear what the solution was before I start working on my subwoofer project. Thanks.

They said they did NOT disconnect the A pillar mic, so something is obviously wrong. I have no doubt they'll fix it, just need to find the problem. They did hardware a mirror radar detector for me too, so I am wondering when they ran the line down the A pillar if they knocked out the voice mic there by accident. I'll keep the thread updated. |

Both the turn signals work (they're a bit loud through the stereo, but I like that actually) and the reverse cross traffic alert works. So I kept both in-tact with this method. They only disconnected the mics in the doors.

What I do know is that I tested my Camaro 2SS Bose system and Center is actually made up from L&R. Whenever Center is present, it also is there on L&R, if either L or R is present, Center also has some signal. Therefore Center is a fill in speaker only. Also the output on this Center speaker is not strong enough to handle any content on itīs own that had been removed from L&R. But in the event you really have to have center, a Mosconi DSP or JL Audio Fix-86, can handle that. |

Then I guess it has something to do with the Radar Detector they installed, because that is the way mine is, with only the door mics disconected, and everything works fine.

I have a couple questions about the sub enclosure. 1) Where is the sub firing? I've looked at the pics both before and after the enclosure was carpeted and can't figure it out. 2) I saw someone else in the thread asked the question on if the sub enclosure could be removed if necessary. I never saw that question answered. Only about the clay type substance on the enclosure. Thanks!
