Had no problem with the amp turning on after having the x3 connector unplugged all night. Everything still works as normal just the bass does not drop like it did with it connected.

After having the X3 connector disconnected for a couple weeks now, I love the stereo much more. One side effect is I don't get the ticking sound when I turn on my blinker. Reconnected it the other day to make sure it wasn't something else and the sound was back. IMO sounds better with X3 disconnected.

Reviving an old thread.

Does anyone have the wire diagram for the x3 connector? I am getting sound issues that could be related to the ANC and I need to know what wire to clip for the Mic on the x3 connector. Thanks in advance fellas!

The below image shows a Bose amp in a 2LT.
The connectors right to left are X1 (black), X2 (green), X3 (black), and X4 (brown). The X1 and X2 connectors are the same for all Bose installations.
X3 varies with installations in a 2SS getting additional wires.
In this photo X3 has only one wire (gray with green stripe, GY/GN) in pin 1 - Low speed GM LAN serial data.
X4 has 4 wires in pins 3-6:
3 WH/GN MOST serial data (-)
4 GY/VT MOST serial data (+)
5 WH/GN MOST serial data (-)
6 GY/VT MOST serial data (+)
pin 14 is WH/VT MOST control, and I believe it is hidden here. It is definitely present on the 2SS harness.

you cant fade to right because you are connected to the left only....but you are also louder now because you basically bridged your wires...you went from 4 wires to 2 which changed/doubled your power probably changed your ohms from 8 to 4 or 4 to 2 or 2 to1 especially if you are using a mono block amp....which most after market sub amps are mono block...

Thanks for this - so if I wanted to cut the wires for active noise cancellation in my 2SS - which wires would I cut?

Where did you get this information? Cause I can’t find a service manual anywhere.

Easy Amp Installation

Took me about 2 hours because I was being picky. But simple hookup for those wanting to add aftermarket subs to your 6th gen. Granted this is in a 2SS with the bose system but I didn't use anything off the bose amp I used the drivers side rear speaker. For those without the bose setup you can run off one of the rear side speakers.

1. Hooked up the kicker sub converter to the rear speaker on the passenger side. BU/GY Left/Rear Subwoofer Speaker Control (+),
and GN/BK Left/Rear Subwoofer Speaker (-)
2. Ran the power wire to the battery with a fuse link in the line.
3. Made my own ground point as you can see the brown wire in the picture.
4. Ran the remote lead from the kicker converter to the amp.

Could have been done in 1 hour but I kept running back to autozone for stuff i thought I had but couldn't find anything.
