DSX low side installed. First impressions.

I had the JMS pushing my low side fuel pump for the 125 Flex Fuel mod from Ted. After the Maggie/cam mod, it wasn't enough.

Installation went smooth and here is what I have now.

At 6500rpm on e50, I am getting commanded fuel pressure, low and high, with 28 degrees timing and 14.69 psi of boost. IPWs are 5.11ms.

I am curious if she will run e60? And, if the 10% will outweigh the risk?

With it holding commmanded and the inj pulse width good, I bet it will take E60 no issue. E50-E60 is the sweet spot and works well on these fuel limited systems.

28 degrees of timing on E50 sounds like a LOT…? I would have expected 22-23…

28 degrees is a ton more than I'm running, although you're 1.5 points lower compression and blending ethanol. Am I just baby soft at 15 degrees on 93 at 10 psi?

Your already at max timing Martin I know you want to keep running E60, but your timing is already very high for E50. Plus ted never removed the adders for PE/COT so its got even more timing adding into it. It will take it, but I highly doubt your making anymore power.

I told you the JMS wasn't enough

I am seeing no KR but, you are not the only smart fella that has mentioned that. I think I'll shoot Ted a note. But, if that is too much, shouldn't it show somewhere?

Thank you. Now, what about a little rebate?

Do you think I should limit the timing? I am not looking for .001's.

I was seeing the same on my friends car that Ted just tuned.
I asked him if the 28° is not too much for his car running top speed on the German Autobahn. Ted answered that E requires alot of timing.

Just sent Ted an email. His first question was low side pressure: 72psi. I'm awaiting a reply.

Ted like to run more timing than most on e85, for what it's worth. To the tune of like 4 to 5 degrees, typically. To me, on e85: when it stops making more power, stop adding timing, then drop a degree out of it and call it a day.

Also, you won't SEE knock retard on E, even if knock is present. You can run timing high enough to get yourself into trouble.

That said, Ted has a LOT of these cars out there, so if he's comfy at 28 degrees, I wouldn't sweat it. Does the car ever actually SEE 28 degrees in a log? It may just be 28 in the main high octane table, but the adders pull it down.

Oh, she sees 28 degrees at 6500. 28.2 at 6800.

Ted's response to my query about the timing was, "what about it?"

My response was, "All the "fellas" say it is excessive."

His response, "All the "fellas" are not professionals."

Gotta love him. I have not heard one negative comment about him. I was more concerned that I may have done something to upset his tune.

I will settle at e50 (yes, Mike) and call it a day.
