Zl1 Track Brake Pad part numbers
I am looking for a list of Front ZL1 track pad part numbers. I ran Hawk DTC70 up front on my 13 and Loved that pad. I can't seem to find accurate Information to get these pads for the new car. I believe it would help a lot of people if we started a list with Manufacturer and part numbers.
(FYI, 6 gen ZL1, Zl1 1LE, and 16+ CTS-V use the same pads) 1: G-Lock: Front- GP1395-R18 2: Hawk dtc70: Front- HB631U.622 3: Racing Brake: Front- PD1395-3R7 4: Pagid: Front- 8253, Rear- 8208 5: Cobalt Friction: Front- CRB.XR1.BGT6D80, Rear- CRB.XR1.D592 6: Ferodo:Front- FCP5030W DS1.11 7: Last edited by tomster; 05-14-2018 at 07:50 PM. |

I ran DTC70s on my 5th gen ZL1 but I prefer the G-LOC pads. Brake torque may be slightly better with the DTC70 but they were very hard on rotors. The G-LOC pads are a nice balance of rotor wear, brake torque, and fade resistance.

I’ve actually had a lot of success with the stock pads on my 1LE and I am by no means a slow driver. I don’t think they would handle a track that is hard on brakes though, such as Laguna Seca. I have DTC70/60 from KNS brakes for tracks like that. I believe we are using the front pad from the ZR1 as mentioned above. Not sure about the rear.

The stock pads were ok. I did not get fade but they were not confidence inspiring. With hawks 70 I could go back to being myself

Sonoma isn’t terrible on brakes, and I’ve been there the most thus far this season. I’ve gotten a bit of fad but not as much as expected. caliper temps are just barely reaching 300 degrees, not very hot at all. I think the factory cooling ducts this car comes with help. My SS 1LE was seeing much hotter temps at the caliper.

I’ve run Cobalt Friction XR1 pads on my last two cars and have a set for the ZL1 sitting in the garage. Really good modulation, great stopping power, decent wear rate, pretty easy on the rotors and moderate dusting. I order directly from them and they normally aren’t on the shelf but it only took a week to get a set cut.
