ACTUAL CUSTOMER Rotofab Dyno #'s

So a few weeks ago I installed a Rotofab intake and Kooks axleback. Then I got a little curious about the Rotofab. I'd seen the "no tune required" claims, but was it really true? So I called a few shops and got all sorts of different answers. So I'm thinking, how can this be one of the most popular Camaro intakes and no one have a clue if it is actually ok without a tune? No one has had a car dynoed with a Rotofab only? So I decided screw it, I'll spend my money for science. So, today I took a drive to Vengeance Racing. And I'm happy to say the beast seems to officially be good to go with a Rotofab. She laid down a best of 563hp and 553 to. Those numbers were on 2 separated runs but were the bests of the 3 polls. The 563hp poll was actually 539 lb/ft of torque. I'll post the video and graph once I have time. Anybody have any stock a10 numbers for me to compare these to?

I am sure it drives and still pulls strong, but did it effect air/fuel ratio any? thank you for taking one for the team in the name of science btw

Air/fuel was mid to low 11's. The factory tune appears to do a good job at adjusting for the extra air flow. The guys there said it made 10-15 more rwhp than what they typically see on a stock A10. It definitely feels a tad strong and the whine is more pronounced.

Overpriced is really all relative nowadays. I remember cai's for $100-300 when I first got into modding my 03 Cobra. But I also remember that car only costing $35k. And the top Camaros costing in the $30's. Everything has gone up. Nothing we can do about it. I think a Rotofab is high compared to what I think it should cost, but also if you look around, none of the other intakes are any cheaper.

My buddy and myself at VIR back stretch have identical ZL1s (A10) and we were dead even up to 150mph on a 45mph roll. We both have Tony Mamo ported throttle bodies, but he has a Roto Fab and I have a drop in Green panel filter. Real world difference isn’t enough to warrant a Roto Fab in my world. I must admit it looks great underhood, and it sounds better with a Rotofab.

Sadly no. Really tough to do in this particular situation.

I'm definitely not advocating people rush out and buy Rotofabs here. I was simply tired of the he say she say. I wanted to know for a fact that a) the car truly doesn't need a tune and b) does it add any power. Now I know. The air/fuel was safe and the Vengeance guys said it definitely made a few more ponies than they typically see out of a stock A10. I didn't buy this thing for big seat of the pants results. I like the look and the increased whine.

But then how do you know it made any power if you didn't do a before and after?

Well, technically I don't. My main priority was knowing if the air/fuel ratio was safe or not. From the other Mustang dyno numbers I've seen though, 563hp is more than the A10's normally make stock.
