Road Noise

I am not sure that the road noise I get is louder than other cars I've driven. Is this a common thing or might something big wrong with my tires? My car has 2500 miles on it. I love the car so, maybe this is my imagination or I am paying too close attention to all the sounds I hear. I've checked my tire pressure and they are all properly inflated. Any thoughts? Thanks!

I went from the stock Goodyear run flats to all season fairly quickly back in November when I picked up my car. My All Seasons were MUCH quieter than the OEM tires. At least to my ears.

Then again......after 45 years of jet engines, gunfire and a few thousand hours in helicopters...my high range hearing is shot. So I guess my opinion is one of those YMMV deals.

I've heard on the forums here that it's due to (and normal for) these run flat tires that come on our cars. There are a couple other theories, but that seems to be the general consensus.

Yep, it's the run flats combined with sports car sound deadening

Coming from my C6 Corvette with the Z51 suspension package and run flats, the newer ones on the Camaro SS are much quieter.

Still some road noise, but much improved, and stick like crazy!

I don't have a lot of time on my run flats since I bought just before winter and replaced them with Continentals. With the Contis I get some pretty bad road noise on certain types of asphalt and almost none on others. Probably a combination of both tires and surface types.

The stock run flats are just loud in general.
