Modded 5th gen vs modded 6th gen
Grudge race time, pick your sides. Track is a quarter mile (no street here).
I expect he'll be on street tires with a heads and cam M6 5th gen. He claims 500+ but I've never seen a dyno sheet or time slip to back it up. I'm small cam and mild ported heads 6th gen A8, will most likely be on slicks or at the least drag radials. I'm dyno'ed at 441. Both full bolt on cars to top that off, obviously. Lots of factors here. Traction, driver race, and power to weight.

This is what I was thinking. If he shows up on non-street tires, he likely borrowed some expecting this situation. Never seen him on anything but street tires, and never seen him race anything that wasn't from a roll.

Because your on drag radials or slicks you have the launch in the bag without even mentioning your an A8. He very well will be right around 500 hp with his mods. If he shows up with drag radials it will be interesting. Get this on Go Pro. My guess is you will win outright.

You'll win. But that cam issue you may have an issue racing him if your putting that power down there's more then one issue with the car.

My friend's 2014 Camaro 1LE (LS3 with Header, intake and tune) vs my 2017 Camaro SS 1LE (bone stock LT1 engine) Same dyno, different days but very similar conditions:
Cars are identical up top but the low end torque advantage of the 1LE is very apparent

Well, case is closed before the bell rang. He saw a video of my last track night of me hanging with a S/C 5th gen and admitted I'm faster, he won't line up.

Well that sucks.....you would have beaten him anyway. But still would have liked to see it I never back down from running anyone. Its alot more fun then just giving up.

I don't think he is at 500 hp. But I do think you would have won regardless. He still should have shown up if anything just to have a fun race against you. Maybe he doesn't know how to launch too well. |
