Dealers with Allocation San Diego
I am unable to find dealers with allocations in the San Diego area.
I asked few of them. They either don't know yet or won't give me a cost estimate. I am looking for a dealer who can give me a cost estimate before I place my order. Can someone help please?? Thanks!!

PM Becky here on the forums, I believe she has allocations and she can easily ship the vehicle to you. Also, the dealership I used Huffiness @ Lewisville,TX has allocations as well. Also, for your "cost estimation" you can find it on the forums somewhere if not, just PM me what exactly you want and I can estimate it for you as I have an excel file somewhere that has all the option pricing and base price...

No dealers can give you that. That info is not in their systems yet. But all the pricing is know and you can figure it out on your own here: http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=420633
Also... Paradise Chevrolet in Temecula has allocation.

I would prefer a local dealer or very cheap shipping.

GM uses union transportation, the destination fee there is FIXED. Whether it's literally across the street to cross country. |

Courtesy deliveries are arranged by the selling dealer to have a car shipped to a Chevrolet dealer closer to the customer. This can result in a cost savings. A courtesy delivery fee averages $300-$500 whereas shipping can run???? The challenge with a courtesy delivery, especially with a new vehicle like a 6th Gen Camaro or C7 Corvette, is that there's always the risk that the receiving dealer allows someone to take the car for a ride. I've arranged several courtesy deliveries and it's always a challenge to find a dealer that 1. knows what they are doing and 2. allows for a great delivery experience. The dealer you pick the car up from is not selling it to you so they don't always have a real interest in making sure you're satisfied with your car. They will prep it and wash it and typically handle the paperwork to license and register the car but beyond that, there's not much interaction. Once the new camaro settles in a bit, courtesy deliveries won't be that big of an issue, but to start, I for one am a bit leery.

Becky is indeed awesome
As usual very insightful and truthful reply. It is still an option for you, OR you can just fly to the dealership (depending on your flight $$$ my flight is 105 bucks one way direct flight to dallas so it's cheap) and just drive back if you choose. Which is what i always do with my new vehicles. ONLY reason why I didn't do the courtesy delivery is purely because I do business down in TX so picking up the vehicle for me isn't a hassle. Instead of driving down as usual, I'll just fly down and drive back as usual. |

Another follow up question.
What are the cons of not having your dealer nearby? Are there any pitfalls??

Chevrolet - Warranty repairs Customer - if work not covered by warranty So...why wouldn't a dealer want to do repairs? Most important...go where you have confidence... Becky |

Their bread and butter truly is the service/parts/body shop aka repairs dept. They do of course make money on new vehicles... Dealership buys X vehicle for 10k, MSPR (manufacturer SUGGESTED retail price) is 15k for example, so that 5k is profit and haggle room for customers which 90% have no clue about. For a brand new model vehicle, it becomes much rarer to haggle for... But getting a new but an existing vehicle model or on the lot is easier to get invoice price for. Used vehicles tend to have much more profit than a brand new vehicle. Invoice to MSRP is usually a couple grand difference (average) but when you go trade your vehicle in, dealership gives you an insane low price and if you accept it they will make more profit from it compared to invoice to msrp. We have some dealership sponsors and employees here, please do correct me if i am indeed wrong. In short, buying the vehicle from an X dealership does not have any pitfalls unless that dealership is just terrible. Servicing your vehicle at a good place is much more important because guess what? You deal with the SALES side ONCE PER VEHICLE, service side MULTIPLE times PER VEHICLE! Haha. |

One of the dealers told me I cannot have NPP dual mode exhaust with Automatic Transmission. Is that true?
Has anyone ordered NPP with Auto?? I am looking at 2LT V6.
