Just got back from the dealer... UPDATE: Status 4300

...And my pre-order is in! 2ss manual painted Garnet Red with Adrenaline Red interior, magnetic ride, dual mode exhaust, sunroof. Painted grey w/machined face split-spoke wheels. LPO illuminated bowtie and floor mats.

Current Status: CANCELED! (Nov 30), gonna get me a Stingray
Last Status Event: 4300 Intermediate Delivery (Nov 3)
TPW: 10/19
VIN: 1G1FG1R71G0119111

Anyway, here's my build (some data obfuscated to protect the guilty):

Interior should look just like this:

And exterior like this (though i believe these would be the bright painted wheels instead of the gray w/ machined face):

Price breakdown:

What do you think?

Nice! Looks like exactly what I would order 2SS garnet red and 6 spd manual. I will be getting the NPP exhaust on mine. Just because you can tune it and its factory.

Yeah, I think I'm leaning in that direction. I had the dealer start up a C7 with an LT1 and NPP and it still sounds mean as heck, so I think I'll be good.

One of the reasons, if not the only reason, to have an order entered SRE: Retail Sold, is Price Protection.

Think about it.

Welcome to the long wait club! Also, SRE is a must or it's pointless to order.

I'm contemplating dropping the NPP dual mode exhaust and going with aftermarket, but I'm still on the fence about that one.

edit: They needed sales manager's approval to finalize the order, but I'll update as soon as they go SRE-Sold Retail.

Anyway, here's my build:

What do you think?
Congrats...not the waiting begins!

Having never done this, could you explain SRE?

Retail Sold.

Your order shows as dealer stock, of which 99% are.

Price Protection is the reason you want your order changed to SRE. Chevy has a habit of raising prices shortly after the initial pricing announcement and pricing is only protected for SRE orders. If the price goes up before your car is delivered to you and it is not a SRE order, you will pay the higher price. In the past even if your name/address is on the OrderWORKBENCH, if your order is not price protected you pay the higher price.

I know there are exceptions. If there is anything to learn about the ordering process it is this: there are almost always exceptions. I said almost because there are a very few areas where I have not seen an exception.

So the point is if you are going to do an order you might as well have it go in as SRE (Retail Sold).

Certainly but your dealer has to do it. You may get a new order number but that is nothing to worry over.

I can't believe how much I am learning from you, laborsmith.
Now if you could just help me choose a good dealer here in the Vancouver/Fraser Valley area!

I would if I could. But the west coast, and Canada, is a little beyond my ken, Fortunately for me, I am but 30 miles north of Woodhaven.
