10 6MT LLT with mods vs stock auto GT vert.

K so the president of the local Rotary club here where I live owns an 08 Mustang GT Vert auto and he threw down yesterday at an after hours business meeting all friendly of course. He's probably in his early 60's. Mine: 10 Camaro 6MT with CAI Inc. intake, Stainless Works LT's Random Tech HFC's and SOLO Mach X LLT catback exhaust. I have not dynoed my set up but I think I have picked up at least 25 HP so far which should put me north of 330HP which is 30 more than a stock 08 GT. A stock GT vert weighs 3655 lbs and a stock 2LT 6MT RS weighs 3750. I bet I've shaved off about 60 lbs with my mods so let say roughly 3690 for me. Basically the car is roughly 35 lbs light er however I bet the guy driving it weighs 50 more lbs than I do so weight wise it's a draw.

I've already raced a similar vintage auto GT with a roof with just a CAI and lost by less than a car length. We raced about a 1/4 mile. Mr. Rotary Prez sez his car is stock and I have no reason to not believe him as his wife mostly drives it. This I know because I usually see her driving it whenever I see it on the road. It's a pretty blue Vert.

I think it would be a good race HP vs Torque. I've got him on HP and he's got me on torque.

Try a roll on, here's a vid that's on the G and Mustang forums. The VQ35DE G35 coupe was a stock auto, the GT was a stock auto too. You should win, a lot of people highly overrate 05-09 S197 GT's, the auto's are solid high 13 second cars (or even low 14s in higher altitude). So you should definently have an advantage on the top end....

His greater torque will give him an edge off the line. From experience with that 5-speed auto, I can tell you he'll drop into his 1:1 ratio at about 90 or so, so if you can be close enough when that happens, you'll be able to pull ahead at the end. You can win, but you have to get a good launch and good shifts to stay within striking distance down the stretch.

Camaro ftw no question, that stock GT Vert auto (lmfao at that slow as balls combo) is a pig. I wouldn't be beating my chest about winning a driver's race against a bag of bricks like that but have fun and be safe.

From 05-10, the manual vs auto for mustangs makes a HUGE difference, especially in trap speed.

I'd say you can take him, by a car to 2.

I'll c if we can line it up. Also he suggested a pull from about 30mph.

He should get you off the line. After that you should start pulling. I think it would look like a ls1 vs lt1 race. LT1 Gets it off the line then ls1 pulls at 60. I had a 2006 GT. It was a auto. Dont underestimate them. If it gets you off the line good its gonna be hard to get him.

LOLing at the premature bye bye wave by the Mustang driver.

Six if you can get a good launch I think you would be able to reel him in.. Not blow by him, but should be close. Good luck..

I had a nice run with an 05 model mustang on my journey to AZ. I met him in Missouri and I was behind him when we started at 65. I began inching him but as we got to traffic we both slowed down. He gave me a thumbs up and we went on our way. It was fun and cool cAuse his stang was red n black like mine.
