I have the Illuminated bow tie on my order. If i really want to black it out, that's not terribly difficult.
Take a look at the pic:  You'll notice that it's the entire chrome surround that gets illuminated on the Chevy bowtie - not a thin bead of light behind it like the Oracle bowtie. (The new Impala has the illuminated chrome on the interior which I thought was super cool, and I'm glad to see Chevy employ it here.) On the official blacked out bowtie, the chrome is still visible.  So with some careful masking tape and a few coats of plasti-dip, one could easily have an illuminated blacked out bowtie.
