Yes the ZL1 out-powered the Boss, but at the very least it handled every bit as well as the Boss 302 LS

I would invite you again to look at those charts again. There are plenty of places where the Camaro pulled more Gs than the Boss 302 LS. Its right there in the charts. Where ever the red camaro line is closer to the top or bottom edge of the graph, that means it was pulling more Gs.

That said, even if the average was better than the ZL1 overall, that still says nothing of braking, and why the ZL1 still was able to apex some corners faster.

Now if the only place the ZL1 gained time was in the straights, I would agree, but it didn't only gain in the straights so I don't agree the ZL1 ONLY out-powered the Boss 302 LS.

I also disagree it should have been necessarily tested against the 2012 GT500. I would like to see that too, but come on... you and I both know the ZL1 and the Boss 302 LS are "track versions" of the two cars. This test made sense to me at least, unless you must use MSRP as a qualifier.

EDIT: I re-read the article just to make sure I didn't miss anything and when the article says this:

Quote:
Even without the big power difference on the straight, the Camaro would have been constantly making ground on the Mustang with mid-corner speed. The Camaro can simply generate more cornering force and corner faster, thanks in part to front tires that are as wide as the Mustang's rears and rear tires that are 20 millimeters wider still. Coupled with a stiffer body and more compliant suspension, the Camaro is a more capable car around the track.
I think it is pretty safe to assume that the ZL1 didn't simply over-power the Boss 302 LS.

I'm sure the 2013 GT500 will achieve a 2:56 or a 2:55 fast lap if SVT tore the design down to distance it from the Boss that much more.

If SVT has solved the monocoque or rear inside wheel lift in hard corners issue associated with the 3 link rear and live axel with a molded carbon fiber brace that is designed under and around the back of the rear seats to attach above and below the rear window, then the 2013 model will be a good deal faster on laps than the 2012 model, Erik
