If you set your mirrors up properly you can see a lot more than without the headrests since you still have the b/c pillar in your way when looking over your shoulder.
Should you get rear ended or are in a front impact you will have severely worse whiplash and likely other neck injuries. IMO not worth the risk at all when your mirrors can cover your entire blind spots when adjusted correctly.

Now that I have thoroughly fed the troll, hopefully no one else will be stupid enough to remove their head rests.

Take it easy on the guy. The older generation had lead paint, and lead gas and they are still alive. If you know what lead does to you then you understand why he thought this was a good idear.

Just for the sake of argument, I attempted to check for a blind spot that the headrest was creating. For the life of me, I couldn't MAKE the headrest impede my vision whatsoever. Unless you are a friggin owl I don't see how the headrests could possibly get in the way.

A friend of mine drives an 18 wheeler Tractor Trailor who was recently fired. I asked what happened. He complained he was fired because he kept removing the trailor during transport because he couldn't see with it connected.

In the industry mirrors are call indirect vision. Many people, including me and anyone who rides a motorcycle have learned to count on "direct" vision. A head check is an absolute must when riding.

So cool if you are comfortable driving your Camaro using mirrors and sensors. There are still many people that don't want to give up the good old head turn. And if you do that for your right quarter you get a tiny porthole (even smaller than a Gen5 if you can believe it) and a whopping giant b and c pillar.

All that being said, removing your headrests is a very unsafe solution.
I use my mirrors and glance over my shoulder when when driving.

I only read the first few posts. Assuming the OP continued, this has to either be a troll post or one of the dumbest things I have ever read on this forum.

For your passengers sake, I hope you put their head rest back in.
