Exactly
Slight correction, he had Nitto NT05Rs 315/20s.

I believe he just ran a 10.98 on the 28th. He had stock tires on it the day before and no intake that he showed. We'll see when he comes out with the video.

Thanks for the correction. I remember he talked about the tires rubbing without spacers and the MT are basically 29" tires, so I was thinking that's the ones he used.

Yes. He supposedly just ran that Saturday at the youtube call out. I'm looking forward to his video to see if it shows his setup. I fully believe these cars are capable of running that bone stock, so it's entirely possible he switched back to bone stock. That's just something people typically don't do.

It is certainly possible. I ran Saturday night with a challenger HC on DR’s and gears that ran an 11.29 and a stock Charger HC on DR’s ran 11.48 to my 11.50 with a bad 1.88 60’ track prep was bad. It’s still going to take a good track and good air. The same as it does for the legendary Hellcats to do it!

Has anyone with a ZL1 M6 gone under 12.0 stock, no DR's?

Yes. Cal ran an 11.6.

Thanks 17, and wow, not to shabby. Was that his only run under 12? Or did he have others to back it up?
Also who's Cal ?

He's on the forum as CWebster I believe and goes by Cal. He ran faster than an 11.6 though I thought? More like an 11.4 or so? But anyways, more people than just Cal have been the 12.0 mark I believe.

I'd love to see what a "Torque management" delete tune would do on an otherwise bone stock A10 ZL1.

Maybe its the car and/or one hell of a driver? Sheez...that's smokin' fast for an M6.

I think his top run may have been an 11.6 after looking at his threads.

Here's one of his 11.6 passes:

In that video he had probably a 80% launch (On a scale of 0%-100%) and a nasty 1-2 shift. With a better NLS 2-3 and even a quicker 3-4, it could be a 11.5 or .4 IMO. (Always easier to talk than execute, Cal is one of the few that got out, beat on his car, and wrote lots of helpful threads for the owners of these cars).

I'm pretty certain he ran several below 12 just going off memory. Seems like his first fast pass was an 11.8 before he finally nailed the 11.6.

Whenever I get to the point that I feel comfortable with giving up my warranty, I'll likely start with removing the TM to see the difference before I start adding any power.

its not deleting the tq management that's the answer. its the tq coefficients that have to be adjusted.

I just had my 2016 CTS-V out with only a flex fuel sensor (e-70) and drag radials and ran a 10.88@128 with a 1.60 60 foot. Dave and I have raced side by side stock and he was ~3 tenths faster than me im sure due to the weight of the car. next time out, im planning to do some more tweaking on it. I would like to see the V go 10.5x@131

I certainly think that changing some tq numbers alone could get one in the 10's. but I did post back in the spring that I didn't think one was going to go much faster than a 1.70 60 foot stock and according to Dave, hes the fastest bone stock with a 1.70

Do NOT do this to try to get around torque management especially with an auto. If you lie to it and scale down torque to try to get around the limitation you will be buying a new transmission sooner than you want to. The TCM needs an accurate torque signal so it provides the correct amount of pressure, etc. The correct thing to do is to get rid of torque management on the engine side only so that it opens the throttle 100% on the launch.

Well actually, both Daves (me and 17CamaroZL1) have run identical 1.705 60' times on the street tires. It just shows how equally built these cars are, with both of us running 11.13 ets. I'm still the slower of the 2 Daves though . He ran an 11.135, I ran 11.138. Missed it by that much . I don't think either one of us is doing anything special, seat time and a decent track are our friends. I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more Zs running very low 11s once we get more of them to the track.

I've known Evil-V for a very long time. Every single one of his cars have been extremely fast. His combinations have always been well thought out, and very deceptive to the eyes . I really would like to see just how fast my car would be with just the simple mods he has added to his V. I believe he has picked up over .5 and 4 mph, over stock. The crazy thing is that he even still has the stock airbox in place. An equal gain would have me running 10.6s

I agree. Knowing the car and having a good track under you are the biggest keys. Most guys running slower than us are running in terrible DA, on terribly prepped (for street tires anyway) tracks, and/or still learning their car. Get more cars out there in better conditions, with someone that's learned the car and knows how to drive it based on what the track has in it, and you'll see many more times right with us or even ahead of us.

Hold off on voiding your warranty. Just wait for GM to release their drag package for the ZL1 and have a low 10 second car with all of its remaining warranty.
