If you're still reading this thread, where did you go to get this replaced? I'm in Tampa and my car is at the Dealership now for the 2nd time for this issue. I'm hopeful they'll actually fix it this time.

I just went to my local dealer in Bradenton, Cox Chevy. I know a few of the other guys with similar issues went to dealers in Pinellas.

Which Tampa dealer is working on your issue? I have been trying to get Gordon Chevy in Tampa to fix the same issue for several months. Gordon's service manager has been in contact with Chevy, and I have also been trading PMs with a Chevy rep for the last few months. Nothing has been resolved. Please let us know if you get yours fixed, and if so, who fixed it and how. Thanks.

I was called today and told they hear it but that it's coming from the mirror assembly and there's nothing they can do. I asked them if it was normal why did it not happen in the test drive cars or why it doesn't happen on the passenger side of my own car! I was told he'd speak to the shop forman and see what they could do. So I guess it's better then saying they didn't hear it this time. I even offered to see if I could find the local dealers that are actually fixing the issue but they didn't like that idea.

If I can hear it at highway speeds over all the car noise and my radio that's too loud and a issue. It really bothers me how many issues these cars have and the fact that Chevy is just ignoring them (windshield fog issue anyone?)

This gentleman diagnosed and resolved the problem in a couple of minutes.

There's a gap between the mirror glass and frame. It's a whistle. Put a little silicone sealant in there.

Sure enough I'm getting the run around again, they hear it but refuse to fix it because they say it's normal, despite the fact it only happens on 1 window.

I'm so very tired of Chevrolet cutting corners on this car and refusing to take ownership of the issue.

In all honesty they haven't been taking ownership of ANY issues...which is disgusting for multiple reasons. They should take another multiple year off break with no cars. Fix their shit and put out solid vehicles.

If you guys need a dealership that will get it fixed try out Gainesville Davis Chevy. I can hook you up with the service manager there. They acknowledge the problem and do their absolute best to fix it.

Did you have the whistling noise issue in your car? If so, what did Gainesville Davis Chevy do to correct it? Since Chevy and my local dealership have been of no assistance, I have tried to diagnose the issue myself, and have tried most of the suggestions on this forum, including using masking tape on the mirror glass, mirror housing, triangle in front of the mirror, etc. I taped up just about everything imaginable on the driver's side of the car: windshield, side window glass, door handle, body panel gaps, etc. I also tried putting additional weather stripping in various spots, tried adjusting the side mirror angle, and opened and closed interior vents, but cannot seem to locate the issue. The whistle starts at 47 mph every time. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am starting to think there may be multiple items causing the noise in different cars, as no single solution seems to work for everyone.

To quote my thread (http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=480925)

Quote:
1: "It's normal" - Yeah, no.
2: Replaced physical microphone part
3: Found gap in body seal with windshield. 2 days to fix this.
4: Replaced Mic again and reflashed firmware
At this point I read about other people saying it was the mirror and told the dealer about it.
5: Replaced driver side gasket of mirror
6: Ordered driver and passenger mirror gaskets
7: Replaced driver and passenger mirror gaskets
8: Pulled Blue RS 2017 camaro off lot and swapped out the entire mirror assemble including mirror, glass, gasket, and rubber cover which connects/covers it to the door.

Got the car back and decided to tape the mirror and sure enough the sound went away. It's upsetting I determined the problem in 5 minutes (with your help) but the dealer wants to say it's normal.
