Owning SSes for 50 Years

The factory headers have been mentioned in many magazines and the first 5.0 that arrived at our local dealership had a CAI that said Ford Racing on it. That's the CAI you would get if you ordered a performance CAI from FOMOCO...isn't it?

Edit: I misread the article. He did say 3.5 seconds faster than the outgoing coupe. |

Your post implies there were multiple 2011-12s in the 11s. Can you give me a few links to peruse? We're talking bone stock on factory tires..right?

That's not exactly a link and not exactly a 2011-2012.

Why is it with "good" tires, the ZL1 is a mid 11 second rocketship to you, but a 650HP car that weighs less with a soild rear axle on a "good" tire won't run better?

I dont have any links to the runs but there have been a few posts in various forums mentioning that 11.8 and one or two other 11.9's. There is also one or two SVTP members who have beat Evan Smiths 11.9 with their 2010's one being a 11.8 which may have documentation. |

Would you mind posting the average for the zl1 also? Still don't understand the logic of comparing best to average.

The thing is this, like I have said, the ZL1 and the 2011-2012 GT500 have nearly identical power-to-weight ratios.
On a drag strip they should run nearly identical times, properly driven of course. |

![]() Sounds spot on until we see stock powered ZL1's running 10's vs 11.1's like the GT500 has already done on stickies. Strictly talking stock powered with stickies..... they should be neck and neck down the 1320 giving the slight edge to the GT500 due to its ability to 60ft better. |
