I have the same tick/habit and also inherited it from my old man

The 1-2-1 trick is sure to fix the issue unless there's an actual mechanical fault.

Another tick/habit I can't break is the need to wiggle the stick right-left-right-left-right-left and I do this obsessively when going into neutral.

OCD? Like however many times you think is a normal amount of wiggling to check if you're in neutral, I do it 3x more than that

Like literally a good solid one-onethousand-two-onethousand-three-onethousand of wiggling haha.


And another off topic MT tip:

Don't rest your hand on the stick unless you want to wear out your selector fork.
