I think you might be right. Probably put one of those 2.9 whipples on her. Looks like they put some pretty big meats under the front of the car as well as the back. Maybe it will still turn as good as the current Hellcat. It may not be great, but it's not terrible either, for its size and weight.

I've never been on the 1/4mile or any road course...the ZL1 will be my first sports car ever, but I do plan to track it, at least on one with turns.

Dodge does NOT have one that will compete with the GT350R or ZL1 in the same price range that will turn...I'll be happy to wager that the 1/4 mile Demon won't touch a ZL1 or 350R on any road course.

Not sure what you are strutting about...all I'm saying is Dodge could come out with a 1000hp 1/4 mile car & it doesn't intrigue me like a well balanced car that can handle corners as well as HP. I simply wish they would because I know they can. I think the viper is one hell of a car.

Never know what they will do, Chevy usually follows the pack, they don't set the trends. I'm a die hard Chevy fan but I'm also a realist. I love the ZL1 for all it's potential but it, like the HC, is a compromise.

Like stated before, Dodge is likely playing to their base...I get it, just don't dig it as much as I would seeing a viper lite so to speak I guess. Their job is to sell cars & certain my $0.02 is worth about that to Dodge Marketing.

Anyway, I'm really not flavor loyal to any brand, my household drives a F150, Hemi & Tahoe at the moment...I like them all & simply an enthusiast. The same way I would like to see a Hemi made $65k vehicle that could tear up corners, bring me a Ford/Chevy that will try to eat up HC & Demons.

Back in the 90s Chevy always seemed to lead in the performance department. Ford would put out a Mustang rated the same as the Camaro or Trans Ams, but the GM cars would still beat them. Glad to see Chevy getting back to that this generation.

Same here. I've drove and enjoyed most brands out there. Probably will continue to, unless this ZL1 changes my mind. I did stick with a Trans Am from 1995 to 2007. Guess I also had a dodge charger and a Mitsubishi Eclipse during that time as well. Lol!

So the second video came out. Looks like it went on a massive diet ... All the flashing/invisible parts including wheels, hood, roof and drive shaft are supposedly all Carbon fiber ..

Vipers were just butt ugly and expensive. The Challenger needs to upgrade more than weight and power, they need a change in style too. Look what happened when they built the same Camaro for too many years (sales slumped). The goal of a car maker is to stuff the pockets of their stock holders.

I think if Chevy ever wanted to build a dedicated drag star...you'd see many more hp than a Corvette. It just isn't their game, though. They seem to be more interested in handling prowess.

Vipers - of any generation - are bad ass. I had a Gen IV and loved it for what it was.

Yes, they are indeed brutal, hard to manage, and not the most comfortable ride out there. But they are sick, sick, sick and wicked fast.

Never underestimate a Viper. And this last Gen (5) was the most powerful of all so far, especially the ACR version.

Are there other quicker/faster cars out there? Sure. But they don't have the dark soul of a Viper. I'm just sayin'...

Vipers are perfect and have a stiff chassis and are over built. Nothing flimsy on them! Real American hand built car. We lost an icon to a Canadian Challenger with a Japanese supercharger that blows up.

Uncivilized, nearly uncontrollable, brutal and one of the fastest track cars in the world.
