What did the 5th Gen Z28 typically run in the 1/4?

Same as the GT350R...but it had less HP than the Shelby. And, you know, it hasn't been made for 3 model years now. So the Shelby really is the slowest 500+ hp car ever, lol!!

2 years. 2 months. It doesn't matter when. What matters is that at the best the GT can muster with professionals at the wheel, they cannot beat our best times. Even with the absolute most favorable conditions they are still behind.

Plus YOU'RE the ones who came on here bragging and showboating and posting up videos about what these shops and tooners are doing. We post up videos showing that we're faster and now you're talking about the SS being out for 2 years? And didn't you ridicule us when we all said that everything the GT is doing has been done by us for 2 years? I don't expect you to actually answer because you avoid every question thrown at you. But basically you're a hypocrite. You guys posted those videos because you didn't think we had videos running faster.
Again you are comparing a SS which has been on the lots since late 2015 to a GT that has been on the lot for 4-weeks.

That's 2+ years to hide tunes, weight reduction, add race fuel, etc, etc, vs 4- weeks to hide tunes, weight reduction, add race fuel, etc, etc

The problem with your argument is that the videos I posted and the times on the fast list were all from back when these cars were still new to the owners. These aren't new videos. Some are from early 2016 and older. These are people who bought the cars, broke them in (in some cases), and then went to the track. So nice try but you don't have an argument there with that one.

So these newly introduced cars put down times that 2 years later can't be duplicated???? Why is that? I'm sure there have been plenty of 6th Gens at the track since that time correct?

Do you need a track rental in -1500? You got .2 to go when no one has beaten that yet with a drag pack. A rental in -500 is far from best conditions? Nope not far from...but damn near. keep downplaying

Don't worry when tunes start being released the stock times will magically jump. Give it time. Then you can come on here and be happy.

What technique you got to stay cool that is as good as a rental? I know some that help. But nothing like a rental.

I guess its kinda funny that someone who doesn't know what they are doing went faster than the mighty 18 GT at a track rental with better DA LMAO!
Lets break down the 6th gen bone stock A8 fast list...

1) about .1 faster than lunds GT in -1000da
2).05 faster in +183da
3).02 faster in in -985da
4).01 faster in -342

So 4 cars have been faster 2 of them in ~500 better air.

what about the other 26 cars on the list that ran slower? Some of those are in negative d/a...does that make the Mustang faster? of course not. You are drawing conclusions from the GT with far to small of a sample size. The cars are a wash and it is absolutely a drivers race at this point. If you think there wont be bone stock 11 second passes from the GT , you're kidding yourself.

No that would be the Z28...it never matched the GT350's 12.1@119 as tested by the absolute authorities of automotive performance at a big magazine

Never said it wouldn’t hit an 11 and never said it wasn’t a drivers race. In fact if you go back a few pages I gave the GT props.

It’s just some of your arguments aren’t very fair in relation to the Camaro and downplayed for the mustang. You act like the car has a half second left in it at times. Typical stuff from a mustang owner defending his pony

Lund's run was around -600 DA. So 2 were faster in better air and 2 were faster in worse air. That in statistics is a wash. Then there's the whole sample size issue. There's no fast list just for the '18s yet, so there is no basis to say the 2 12 flat runs are average or above average. So we might as well not argue about it other than, they ran it...end of story.

LMAO!!!! You're going to bring the one car that was never setup for drag racing into the equation? The Z/28 is a beast of a car, and destroys most cars around a road course. In the 1/4 mile? It's a pig all things considering..

And for the record, the GT500 was a 12 second car on street tires in a lot 1/4 mile runs.... most who got lower went with DRs or slicks... (some hero cars did break into 11s...but it wasn't consistent).

So we want to talk bad about a 500hp car in the 1/4 that was designed purely for road course.....or do we want to talk bad about a 640+ hp car that is still slower than it's basic model for the 2018 year?

A good listen on exactly what Lund did to achieve their times...

https://youtu.be/tlifLimQEPI

It looks like the change in transmission tune along with the 10HP bump from their 93 octane tune was good for 0.4
