I am genuinely curious if performance does matter overall. Indeed it does for the enthusiasts, that's why we're enthusiasts. As far as the bulk of the buyers go, the mindless masses, who knows?

Seems like one of those questions that we really wouldn't be able to answer. The easiest route wouldn be to poll buyers on these types of forums, however these forums are populated by enthusiasts. The casual buyers don't usually participate here. So their responses would be all but unheard even though they most assuredly outnumber us.

I saw that too....really soft. Car #34. Those 60' times with no spin is not encouraging with a 3.15 gear. I guess trying to hide low end torque with steep multipliers like a 3.55 is the only band aid they can use.

I was secretly rooting for them too, getting kicked in the teeth year after year would get old I suppose.

Shhhhhhhhhhh don't tell anyone the 2018 GT is a torque-less pile of garbage that will never run faster than 12:70s, and if anyone posts otherwise they are obviously hiding mods. Only a SS Camaro is allowed to run 12:00s or faster.

Negative DA, 19's instead of the base 18's, a well prepped surface with a driver who knows his stuff. Don't think many will beat that number on the 3.15 car.
